Had a blast working on this commission. Did the modelling & print, and character concept & direction credit goes to the client. Printed using anycubic green resin with standard settings and primed using Army Painter uniform grey primer.

The first print didn't make it. Too bad too. This was going to cure cancer, aids, politics and repair racial divides. No luck. We're all doomed. ?

Test print failed, the print stuck to the vat instead of the plate. Cleaned it all up and trying again.

Not much hope here.... first layer preview did not look as it should have but I was too eager to stop... I'm not hearing any *pop* when it lifts between layers so I expect to start over in a little while. Fingers crossed.

So, I decided to read my resin bottle AFTER I poured it in and started the test print on my brand new Photon. On a scale of 1-10, how important would it have been to shake my resin before putting it in the vat?

Finished printing, and all put together. All white bits are styrene, and the brass bits are... SURPRISE! brass. Ok, so here are some teaching moments:

1. Break apart complex parts, easier to print
2. When you do break those things apart, make sure you key them so you are not just eyeballing it.
3. Key, or peg everything, holy cow...
4. Did I mention to peg or key everything!

Hey folks,

been thinking about modifying the Photon to 385nm LEDs to test some carbon3d and other materials (rather than testing on our expensive printers).

From my understanding the LED unit is pretty straight forward on this one. Guessing I just need to resolder 4 385nm LEDs on the original component.

Anyone else thinking about this?
