First print with supports generated with MeshMixer done
I'm actually impressed as you can see the object was quite bulky (obviously hollowed out) yet the generated supports held it.
I also like how it generates the 'organic' like supports so there was NO islands what so ever!
I did have to tweak the settings down a bit because initial supports are too dense (especially 'on the surface')

Doing second print now - this time, less supports on the surface - just left the ones on the bottom and changed the settings of thinkness of supports from 1.6mm to 1mm - added extra ones on the bottom to compensate but all in all - so far easiest application to work with support generation wise.

Good afternoon! I just got my Anycubic Photon in yesterday. I've tried a couple of prints but without success. It seems that the base prints and sticks to the resevoir rather than the plate. I've done the calibration with a piece of paper thing and set the 0. Anything else I can try? Was trying to do a miniature with the following settings in the company program...

Layer thickness 0.1
Normal Exposure 12
Offtime 1
Botton Exposure 80
Bottom Layers 8

Thanks!

Hi, can I add more resin during printing?

Well, guess I got a little cocky after my initial success yesterday. Tried printing two of these cones but I guess they were too close together. The one on the left lifted off the bed. The one on the right was almost perfect (except the front part separated (needed more supports?). That's all until next weekend when I get time to try again.

Are there any resins with as little smell and similar properties to the Formlabs standard resins available that works in the Photon?

We are looking into getting a photon for our makerspace, but the smell is a very real problem for us.

Monocure Rapid Clear would be nice to use since it is available fairly locally, but i have read that it smells pretty bad?

Hi everybody,

The Photon is on its way here and i was wondering what you guys think of the supports in this picture. Before i commit to a 6h print i want to be sure im getting the right idea here and that im not making any obvious mistakes in the supports. Thanks in advance!

That thumping sound. Had a print fail last night. There were a few layers stuck to the build plate and few to the FEP. Used same exact settings and resin that had worked before. Recalled that when print worked, heard a thumping noise when the plate lifted from FEP. Did not hear that on the failed print. Re zeroed the plate and only heard the thumping sound a few times, just on the first few layers. Another failed print in progress perhaps?
