Hi all, when hollowing out a model for resin printing, do you put holes on the bottom (nearest the build plate), on the top or both? Thank you in advance, just got a Photon the other day and starting to learn a whole new world!

OK third print more ambitious with the Anycubic maroon this stuff just will not stick to the plate it's terrible fourth print back to industrial FTD black perfect any one got any tips for the maroon? I already tried soaking the plate and uv exposing it first too and it still tried to peel off, and i am the undisputed king of levelling.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2841038 Did anyone have any success with hollowing out the part called "Barrel" on this model? I have hollow the handle and print the rest as is.. but barrel wont successfully hollow for me in Meshmixer, and could save a lot of resin on this, by just filling with sand or similar after printing the large parts hollow :)

Monocure rapid blue.

0.05 layer height, 15s normal exposure, 1s off, 60s bottom exposure, 5 bottom layers.

Used platebond and large supports (generated and additional manually added)

You guys that are sculpting organics, are you using Z-brush? I'm I good to just self-start and run tutorials on it like I did with Rhino3D? Any recommended tutorials?

Hello,

Thanks for the add. It looks like a few people use the Photon prints for jewelry. Is there a compiled resource on the group that will improve chances of successful castable prints (e.g. settings, resin types, etc.)? I also have an application for larger casts for more functional parts but have not found much information on this so far as it relates to resin printing. Thanks.

Does anyone have an idea how you could go about calculating the approx. cost of a print? i.e. calculating how much resin is needed? Any handy tools I should know about?
