Why did the supports print then leave the model on the fep.
Too small and fine is my guess.
Do I need less but stronger supports?
Thanls

Just wanted to share a little trick I have been using throughout the years making my own pre-moistened cleaning wipes.

I came across the white rag bucket at home depot today and it reminded me of when I used to buy the blue shop towels, cut them in half, remove the core and store them in a plastic coffee can with liquid cleaning detergent added in.

I poured around ten ounces of Isopropyl into the container then sealed off the cover seam with some electrical tape.

You can vary the moisture level by adding more or less Iso into the container.

This works great with all different kinds of liquid, not just Iso.

Any thoughts on this as a filter for the back of the photon? I have a housing idea for it. My question is whether or not you guys think it would work to negate some of the fumes. I do worry slightly about air escaping through the inbound vent at the base of the machine. Would that be worth filtering as well?

First off, sorry about the crazy message, writing this on a phone. Auto-correction is killing me.

Running into what I believe is a levelling problem. After moving from a Wanhao 7.5 to an Anycubic Photon I am using the same technique to level the build-plate against the Display screen. I am not sure if it is is too low or high with the type of error I am seeing. The large circular layers are fine, but once the base of the cube start, it adheres to the FEP sheet. I do not see moment in the print-plate or changes after printing.

The steps I'm using to level the bed.
1) Loosen the build-plate bearing till it swivels around.
2) Home the Z axis.
3) Place a cut to size sheet of paper atop the display glass. I am using a standard white printer sheet - 20lb. basis weight thickness.
4) Keep lowering the Z axis by 0.01 increments until till I can pull but not push the paper sheet under the build-plate.
5) Gently push down on the build-plate edges and tighten the build-plate bearing to lock it level.
5) Exit and press the Z axis to zero, confirm with a click on yes.

Long and detailed extended version of why I think it's to low

I have an older Anycubic Photon purchased back in late February of this year, the blue acrylic series. It always worked but dimmer compared to my Wanhao DLP 7.5 printers. The exposure times much longer than what I was expecting. Looking at the community Google-Docs and previous experience using the Wanhao DLP units, exposures are taking 2 to 3 times longer the listed values for the Photon. The Demo-Cube never did print. I was able to modify the demo cube's gcode and print it on the Wanhao DLP 7.5 with the 60s-base and 8s-layer time. I was using the Anycubic Day-glow-green and NOVA3D 3D Black resin. So I knew something was up and the Cube was good.

Earlier this month I purchased a new Photon from Amazon. While waiting for my new unit I went ahead and did a firmware upgrade. To my surprise it is visibly brighter, you can see images displayed on the LCD screen when the door is closed. I never did have a chance to test it before the new unit arrived. Shockingly the new purchase arrived in under two days. From click to purchase in 27 hours.

The new Photon would start printing the Demo demo cube till mid-way up then fail. Repeatably it would fail at the exact same point. Examining all three failures the cube leaning slightly forwards. I ran my hand along the Z-axis and found it was horribly angled at the top. I was able easily able to push my thumb and forefinger behind the slide at the top. The bottom of the slide was like my older Photon and a few centimeters from the back. Using a sheet of paper and a drop line, I was able to measure about 19deg off at the top. I returned it Amazon, no questions asked.

I put my original Photon back and tried printing again. This time when printing the Demo Cube, I am getting a base but it pulls off at the start of the 3 cube corners leaving me with a great 2d image on the FEP of the cube. It's printing, but something is still off. Again using the Anycubic Photon Day-glow-green and NOVA3D 3D Black resin.

I have attached a few images of the failures I am seeing, these are in NOVA3D 3D Black resin. The green ones are faint and hard to see. Poor lighting in my area.

Any suggestions would be Great.

Question to the group...I have been printing a variety of scaled prints to coordinate with minature boardgames...and because so often printing stls from various sites can cause a lot of resizing.....my question; What wouldyou say the photons grid in the software would be comparible to for 28mm minatures...I'm thinking about a foot ? more accurate thoughts ?

Hi, I'm thinking about buying this printer. Do you think the prints have enough quality for selling copies of them? It's posible to dissimulate totally the possible layer marks? How do you polish the pieces for getting a smooth surface?
Thanks in advance
