What’s the deal with “Off time?” When would you ever need longer off times? Printing something at .02, and I set the off time to 6.5 following someone’s advice and I regret it. ?

Second batch of parts.
I changed the orientation of the parts to 270 degrees, and brought the level thickness down to .015mm, which said 10 hours to print, but ended up just over 16.
No matter.
Prints came out looking glorious.

My current post print workflow with Monocure rapid grey
- container 1: Warm water + Laundry liquid+baking soda
- Container 2: Warm water
- Container 3: empty
- IPA in Spray bottle

- Remove print into Warm soapy water
- Rinse and rub surface gently with gloves on a few times
- inspect model and remove supports, remove some zits with finger nails
- Rinse and rub where zits were to smooth.
- Using soft toothbrush gently scrub print, pay attention to cavities, dip brush into soap solution.
- repeat until all supports are removed, at this stage the print should still feel smooth and soft.
- Rinse any soap off in clean warm water, at this stage the print should feel matte and sanded, inspect for any missed supports and repeat soap water if needed.
- Once you are happy with support removal
- Spray the model down generously with IPA and use toothbrush again gently. The print should again be smooth with IPA. ( use container 3 to catch IPA. and dip brush into the IPA while you scrub. )
- Rinse in clean warm water, repeat IPA and water 2-3 times until you are happy.
- remove any water left on print with cotton buds, paper towel, compressed air, breath before curing.
- cure under sunlight on rotating solar power plate.

is it bad to have to high of an exposure setting will it cause swelling of the layers if i have my exposure time to high. Im using anycubic black with a 15 second exposure and the prints are coming out fine no problems was just wandering?

Hey guys! My photon arrived today! I got it set up, and read the manual. I just have a few questions.
1. When cleaning the FEP film, can I use paper towels, or should I use something softer like microfiber to avoid scratching.
2. Can I put excess resin that doesn't get used in a print back into the original bottle, or should I consider it "used" and not reusable since it would have been exposed to ambient light and could start to cure?
3. On the previous note, how long is too long to have the resin exposed to ambient light when filling the vat for a print. Should I be religious and cautious about shutting the hatch to the enclosure, or will having the resin be open to light for 30 seconds not hurt things too bad?
4. I thought I saw someone mention that putting RainX on your FEP film sheet can extend it's livelihood. Is this true? Should I coat mine?
5. When post processing prints, what's the best way to remove excess resin?
6. Does anyone know a good source for affordable resin and/or FEP sheets (I'm in the US).

What is the concern with resin being in the vat for longer than 48 hours?

He guys,

Just finished the Amerlabs test print and I think it's just amazing how it turned out ? I mean look at the amount of detail ??

Now I'm just curious, did anyone get better results for this print in any kind of resin?
