After a long print at night & the UV LED strips took Ebay a millennia to arrive, oh SUNSHINE, glorious SUNSHINE!

First print! Went way too small but I was surprised and happy to find the Photon handled it without issue. Big thanks to this group, all of your shared knowledge made this a super smooth entry to non-FDM printing.

Okay, so I tried to print some shredder minis and still having difficulties with my printer. In the beginning, it was all good, but recently not so much. Here's some pictures of how it turned out this time. Similar to the Axl in my previous post which was the other most recent print and it seems like this is a recurring issue now and I'm hoping someone may have advice on what's wrong and how to solve it? It makes it kind of "platform" at a certain part, almost like it melted in the air. Still printed with default settings. Any idea what's wrong? The resin is just anycubic uv resin white.

any way to estimate how much resin you will use in your print? Cura has an estimate for fdm printing I was wondering if the slicer or another program could tell you?

Probably a stupid question, and I did a quick search, but it there a guide to resin exposure time, over/under cured and what to look out for? Etc? (With pics)

The reason I ask is I am getting weird bits on my prints ( they look like moulding flashings), and resin stuck to the bottom on my vat ? (any cubic gray, 0.025, 10, 6.5, bottom layer is fine)

hey guys whats up im new to this group just wanted to say hello and ask a few questions i have since this is my first 3D printer that uses resin. ive watched a few videos about leveling cure times and what are the best suggestions for slicing settings but i still have a few unanswered questions i hope you guys can help me with :) .

1.) I noticed in the manual that came with the anycubic photon that all of the slicer settings mentioned a range it didnt get a finite number i decided to split the difference with all of them. is this somehting ill need to change based on the print size or density?

2.) My first test print was a failure after releveling and printing a Die it came out great then after that i tried printing the flexi-Rex from thingiverse (see attached picture) and only the half of the print thats is below the red line printed the rest never stuck to the bed and just hardened in the bottom of the vat as a pancake.

3.) For now im cleaning with isopropyl alchol just agitating the print by submerging it in some and swirling it around then the same with water then setting it in the sun to dry is their anything else that i would need to do?

4.)Ive been looking at some primor to finish my prints with, is something like rustoleum brand spray paint can primor going to work or does it need to be UV resistant.

5.) ive found that its quite hard to get some failed prints off of the fep sheet at the bottom of the vat how should i go about removing these so i dont unintentionally damage it?

6.) Should i just use the supports that are sutogenerated and should i use light medium or heavy ive been using light but there seems to be some warping in areas

thanks again guys i really appreciate all the help and support ive yet to get a 100% succesful print but im confident that i will soon.

Just a reminder to new users this video will help you with preparing models for the photon all files used have links in the video info.

Added a layer slider to the application, and changed memory handling so it can handle models using the full build height at 0.025mm slices.

The application was renamed to Photon File Validator, because it describes much better what the application is all about.
