Another HeroForge mini. The detail is crazy including a candle inside the lantern. I still need more experience in support placement. I tend to use more than probably needed, but i working on it.

Thanks for accepting me to the group. I'm a high school engineering teacher. My students and I enjoy our FDM printers, but I'm looking to extend them into SLA. I like what I see with the Anycubic Photon, but since I'm so new to SLA, I'm trying to determine what all I need to purchase. For example, we always keep extra nozzles, new PEI sheets, and other things around for our current 3D printers. Are there certain keys that we should pay closer attention to? For instance, FDM seems really dependent on z gap and temp settings. Any advice would be welcome.

Hi all, thanks for letting me join the fun,

had the Photon for about a week now, had a some beautiful prints ( forgive the images, i'm no photographer) also got a few issues.

First one is a clunk( some times a squeak) when the bed is rising during UV off time, doesn't last long, or the whole print, and isn't at a consistent height either. It doesn't seem to be z wobble as the prints are fine

Any ideas on what is causing the sound ( something binding on the leadscrew?)

About 1 print in 3 fails with the (well documented) Memory error M_11820, I've contacted Anycubic about both issues awaiting a response atm.

With regards to the memory error, going on the basis of reading posts here, I have ordered a better power supply to see if this helps.

At work trying to kill time until I can get home and print. Maybe you can help with my latest problem :-) My print last night failed. I have been successfully printing small/humanoid minis with Nova3D grey and settings of .04/10s/3s - 60s/8. However, when switching to larger pieces things didn't go so well. The base stuck to the plate as it should, but it appears that when getting to the actual mini that the supports were not strong enough to pull it off the FEP, so I ended up with base and torn supports on the plate and the rest of the job was just blobs stuck to the FEP. I'm thinking that I need to up my supports from medium to heavy, but I am wondering if I should also reduce my cure time in hopes that it will not adhere so much to the FEP. What would you do in this situation?

Morning guys! I’ve hit a wall with this model. For some reason, supports are being auto added to the base. Does that mean the base isn’t really flat against the build plate? Should I tilt this model? It’s the damn wings I think...
