So. Started my first print. Decided to do the cube. Anyone else notice the way the resin sort of sticks to the screen/bottom of the vat? When the build plate lifts between layers the cube sort of stretches. Is that normal?

After a lot of research I'm looking into getting the Anycubic Photon but my only concern is the smell that everyone is reporting. I have read that it depends on the resin, so for the sake of discussion let's talk about the Anycubic one that comes with the printer.

Does the smell lingers for a lot of time (with windows open)?
Does the smell impregnates into furniture (sofa)?
Where do you print? Bedroom? Garage? Kitchen? Locked room with window?
Does the smell have any short-long term effect on pets?
Is it REALLY that smelly?

Is this normal or odd? Starting my first print, the Photon constantly hummed and whirred for about 45 minutes straight, stuck at 1% with no info about what it was doing, before it *finally* started the print. Looks like its progressing nicely now, but it had me concerned for a while.

Lenses, printed with Monocure Rapid Clear. They need post processing (polishing, grinding). Slightly brown, absorbs maybe 30%. Invisible substructure, maybe a gradient index pattern induced by pixel grid produce diffraction grating-like effects. Usual curing time 50% more compared to Anycubic green resin (eg 15 instead of 10 seconds)

Our first print (and post)
We needed to print something small. So as we don’t want to waste resin ? it needed to be useful as wel! The black and grey fan was the standard (very noisy).

We are happy sofar with the results!

Anyone know how you can estimate how much resin i need to print a model with Anycubic Photon printer.
In my FDM, my printer show much how much meter filament needed.

Finally got a chance to try out my new Photon, and currently printing the test cube, but what a struggle to get it running. The stock USB stick is pure crap, like many have noted. I put it in the machine, and the thumbnail came up as a garbled mess (top pic 1). I formatted another 8GB stick as single partition, FAT32 and loaded the PHOTON.photon file, and the Photon wouldn't even read it (bottom pic 2). Luckily, I saw Flint's post about the Kingston 16GB stick, and I happened to have that exact one that I keep on my keychain. The machine read it perfectly
