Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團

Hi guys, thanks for the add. Hoping I can get some advice…

I paint and sometimes sculpt miniatures for painting competitions. So, quality is of the utmost importance, and things like speed and inconvenience are secondary. My usual workflow is to do a prototype with Shapeways HDA (high def acrylate) and then send it to another company to be printed on an Envisiontec Perfactory printer for final (super expensive… like $100 for a HeroForge sized miniature).

The Photon has definitely got my attention with the insane quality. I can tell just from peoples posted pictures that the quality is way better than Shapeways HDA (which has crisp detail but really bad striations). So now I am thinking I can almost certainly do the prototyping step in my workflow with the Photon. But… the pics have me wondering… could I also do my finals on this? Is the quality possibly that good? Here are my specific questions:

1. Does anyone have experience with both Shapeways HDA and Photon OR Envisiontec and Photon and can speak to the relative quality? I doubt I can get the same resolution and smoothness as a 75k printer, but I look at peoples pics and they seem so crisp and smooth...

2. Is there any owner here that would be willing to do a test print for me? Happy to pay for your time and costs… please DM me.

Do these supports look ok? Also should every print have a raft?

Has anyone else experienced that the supports go through the bottom of the build platform? And is it a problem that I should fix or is it able to print like this?

I will update my VAT cover on thingiverse soon with the next parts. The bottom with inlay to use a microfibre cloth and fixing handles - the cover with outlet - i also add a bottom without the extra inlay part.

edit: ok - its up - you can find it here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2849290

its still in progress - there are more to come :)

Clear green anycubic Sherman Firefly with the big 76mm, taking down a early Tiger in Wanhou white and green primer, with a rear shot. Hopefully before they can swing that 88 around and punch a hole in that tin can hull. Reminds me of being 7 years old....

Very interested in the photon. How do any of you like it for miniature figs? Thanks

HI guys. Thanks for the add. I'm a Moai owner and am starting to research options for a second printer. I hear some anycubic photon users are having similar heating issues to us Moai guys. I made this vid to share across the SLA and DLP communities. Read through the description for a custom settings profile that keeps the heat stable inside the confined space of a 3D printer. I've been using this heating system for weeks and have had no problems and keeps the interior a stable 78.5F all night long in a 50 degree shop. Enjoy.

I currently own a Moai and love it and was thinking about adding a second printer. Possibly an anycubic photon to save a little money. How similar is it to the moai in terms of consumables? Print time, maintenance, needed mods etc..?
