Hi,
Can you help me choose between Anycubic PHOTON and 3devised PLUTO.
The meaning of print is not the same
One print by upwards and the other downwards. There is a difference?

Hello everyone :) another tough question :D ... How do you coat your prints if the model is supposed to be a wearable item so that its skin safe ? .. ie a bracelet or a finger ring or something like that ? Basicly the model (cured resin) would be touching the skin all the time... How to coat/protect the 3d model that will be in contact with skin ? :)

Hello New Photonsters

I am taking the liberty of introducing you to some of the names of the elder council of venerable Photonsters. If any of these names offer you advice or guidance you can take it to the bank as they have definitely put the work and time into knowing how to get the best from this machine (and continue to do so) Artur Fuste , Mark Wardle , Philippe Maegerman , Karl Trout and Kevin Rank (our founder).

Thanks for your help and continuing presence here in the group guys.

This list will i am sure grow as time goes on and we push this machine even further, But for now get to printing and say hi to them when you see them about they have big ol brains just chock full of brainy goodness for you to learn from, so ask questions and happy printing all.

Oh and I sometimes help out too.

A quick guide to all those print settings and what they mean.

Hi Photonsters and welcome to your new addiction.

It does not help that when you read the manual it uses the terms I have Placed in brackets here and when you hit the cog to see the settings during a print it uses other terms Not in brackets in this guide, So i have put them both here to try and make it more clear for you guys.

To help you get started let's explain those pesky setting, Yes even the obvious ones just to clear it up once and for all :D

Bottom Exposures (Bottom layers): this is how long the UV light will turn on to set the layer of resin that is on your build plate for the first few layers (it's extra long to give the resin the best chance to stick to your plate and form a super hard base to help keep your part from wobbling and rocking about)

Bottom layer: (Bottom layers) simple, this one it's about how many of those super hard base layers to lay down on the base of your print usually this is 5-8 layers.

Normal exposures (Normal exposure time) : After your base layers have finished this is the time the UV will be on to cure all the rest of the layers of your print and will always be lower to your base layers setting it can be looked up in the excellent settings chart compiled by Artur Fuste that you can find in the files section of this group.

then we come to the mysteriously named Exposure off (Off time) . "Whatever can this mean?" I hear you ask, "Tell us Flint tell Us.", Well since you asked so nicely it's the amount of time the plate will wait at the bottom of a cycle (Pressed down on the FEP sheet, in the bottom of your vat) Before the UV light comes on for the next exposure longer times leave more time for the resin to settle out and form a flat layer.

OK think that's everything now stop lollygagging about here and go make cool stuff!!!

Is it broken? A short story of USB cards and how to fix it.

Help! my photon just sits there when i put a USB card in it and seems very slow and I can't see any models, What's wrong with my Photon is it borked?

No it's fine what we have here is a corrupted USB card simply put it in your computer and format the USB with FAT32 and default settings and try again.

Also try setting the allocation unit size field to Default

Working now? Good job now stop lallygagging about and get to printing.

I just had a bit of a scare with my Photon. I copied a model onto a USB stick, stuck it in, powered on the machine, and... NOTHING! It just sat there with a red light on. Panic started to set in. Unplug and plug it back in, and same result. Then it hit me. I removed the USB and it started right up.

Lesson learned? Format any USB you intend to use in FAT32 not NTFS ;)

I'm not loving the MakerJuice G+ Red. The print looks pretty good after eight attempts increasing exposure each time. But look how high I had to go. I won't buy it again.

Ok so calibration test for fun to do industrial black
At 0.04, 10.5 normal exposure (from the table)
Came out fine
Although i think there is some light bleed
Is that from over exposures ?
And if so how much normal exposure time should i try ?
