OK people are asking for a list of things to check when the Photon arrives
So here goes.
1 once you have it unboxed Check all the little nuts around the USB ports are good and tight (I actually had one loose and this was a problem) You can solve this by gently putting a usb stick in the hole and using it to hold the port in place while you tighten the nut that is loose.
While you're at it turn the resin vat over see those screws in there? make sure they are nice and tight too if they are loose then your first print could ruin your FEP film by stretching it out of shape.
2. check all nuts on the machine bed (the big flat red bit), Are all nice and tight too.
then take a look at your build plate and (yup you guessed it), make sure all those nuts are nice and snug and that the tightening Red knob is not loose, It has a small grub screw you can tighten it if you need to.
then inspect the screen and make sure it is clean and free from damage.
Now is a good time to lay some sellotape (other brands of tape are available) that is thin around the edge of your screen (this will stop resin getting in ans breaking your screen should you ever have a vat leak) you only need to overlap by a few mm or so 2-3 is fine just make sure it's liquid tight.
3. Now turn your machine on and go through the manual for set up (you can also see my guide for more advanced set up tops in the file section of this group)
4. move the plate arm up and down the z lead screw a few times you can hit the 10mm up and down more than once but be careful not to move far enough to reach the end of the bar, Now look very closely at your lead screw as it turns, Is it wobbling? If not carry on and set up.
5. screw the door knob on.
6. make sure the printer is sitting firmly and level on your table desk bench dog house wherever you have it sat, a spirit level can help with this. you can adjust the level of your printer by screwing it's feet in and out make sure it's not rocking about.
7. put the USB card in the slot and make sure you can read it on the touch screen
8. go print something and check out the resin times chart also in the files section of this group and provided and collated by the Brilliant
