OK Photonsters I am seeing lots of photos of boxes with yellow tape all over them so time for some more hint and tippage.

So, You're all excited and you set your first print off and you have read up on plate levelling and you're SURE everything is set up right.

Then the horror you find the print is a blobby mess stuck to the bottom of the vat and there is nothing just NOTHING on the build plate!!!

Don't panic (as a famous book once said) try setting your base layer time to a much higher value 70-90 seconds and try again this should make sure it sticks to the plate and not the vat, Don't be afraid to really burn that sucker on there!

If it's working you will hear a pop or clicking sound every time the plate comes up.

Happy printing: we have now achieved normality and therefore anything you still can't cope with is your own problem...

OK I Just realised the reason for having a separate home position.

firstly it makes sure you don't bed crash when levelling and lets you lower the plate nearly all the way without pressing the down button like a lab rat on amphetamines.

Secondly if you watch closely when you start a print you will notice it dips in to the resin to the higher home position then dips in again lower to the final Z=0 position thus letting the plate get evenly wet and pushing out bubbles that may still be on the surface of the resin.

Hi guys, new Photon user here with a slicer question.

When I go to the Supports tab, it always moves my model away from the bed. I've tried changing height values and various Raft options without success.
Is there any way to have a model print directly on a raft?

PhotoCentric UV Firm Black

Layer thickness: 0.04
Exposure time: min 20secs (23 to be on the safe side for solid models)
Off time: 1
Bottom time: 70
Layers 8
Mind your support! Better more than less - tends to warp a bit. Support is easily removable. I used the thick and mid settings and worked out ok.
Horizontal stripes (z-axis) are very pronounced. Do not open the printer while printing :-)
A bit smellier than the Firm Clear.
Use warm soapy water solution to clean.
Cure under UV for at least 2x30mins. Give the objects a final IPA rub

Ok not sure whats going wrong. The print leaves a layer with good adhesion on the build plate but the rest ends up on the bottom of the tank. Is my bed to high or to low?

So success on 2nd print decided to go for something small to save time etc..... Size wise 0.2mm overall will see after it's cured in the sun ?? ??
