Want to know how i fixed my screen? well here it is in all it's horror ridden glory.

Well I seem to have movement, the first attempt at printing test piece from stick resulted in it getting stuck on 1% with no movement. So downloaded the file from A/Cube site now we cooking resin...... I think ? ? ? ? my screen says just under 6 hours is that right??

OK listen up Photonsters.

I have been places you youngsters can only dream of and I hope you never have to or at least not anytime soon.

Here is how to replace a damaged Photon screen with a D7 screen.

First follow the guide on the any cubic site to open your machine and take out the old one then flip the machine upright and put a rim of silicone sealant around the edge of where the new screen will sit (DO NOT GET ANY ON THE GLASS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN PIT.) CLEAN THAT SCREEN PIT GLASS AND REMOVE ANY DUST IF YOU HAVE TO!!.

then place the screen in and hook it up then close the machine again.

you will then notice the new screen is too small it will sit there ok but light will be bleeding out the edges when you test it (it has no protective glass on the front!!) But wait i hear you cry, the photon screen has a nice big screen mask on the front!!.

Well my padawans you're right this is the next scary bit so if your anxious go to the toilette now.

I took the old screen and peeled the LCD away from the face plate.

The next problem was it has a sticky tape stuck all over it on the back so i had to peel that off too i got under one corner with my finger nails then laid it flat on a soft towel so as not to scratch the face of it ant peeled it back carefully (this takes a lot more force than you would think) then i IPA cleaned both sides and washed in soapy water I the put this on top of the screen in the machine and put a dot of super glue at each corner and a little bit just at the edges to hold it in place nicely.

then i homed the plate and switched to 0.01 and with a peice of card on the screen i lowered the plate till it was tight to the card and screen.

then you wait for it all to set.

then you say thanks flint my 450 dollar paper weight can print again. and GO PRINT SOMETHING!!

Went for something useful in my first print, and it turned out okay. The back suffered from warping and blobs from using auto supports, but the front came out incredibly well.

I made mess of my work area, used way too many paper towels, spilled a bunch of resin, and slightly damaged my FEP sheet trying to get a solid bit off the surface.

Guys, I have a question! We were talking today with Philippe Maegerman and Vaughan Lundin about making this “hobby” profitable. Now jewelry modeling and production in 3d printing is my job for the last 7 years. As I can see, some of you would like to do it for living. So the question is: who of you would be interested in online learning of jewelry design in Rhinoceros, while the main idea is not the software itself, but the jewelry design?? Also we will create a supporting community for this specific case...

hello Follow Photons im having some issue with trying to place supports of my models i come from an FDM printing background so the transfer to resin is with supports i just cant seem to get my head around it

Ive watched some great videos which kinda explain the idea but just like so help to grasp it
