Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » 用戶發文

Has it been your experience that the Anycubic Maroon resin is kind of trash?

I've had my Photon for a year and have printed a bajillionty things no problem. I have had the Photon S for a few months and similarly, no problem. I typically use AC grey but also have used E-sun yellow PLA, E-sun clear, AC Green, Siraya Tenacious, and so on. No problems.

I have absolutely *not* been able to coax good results out of the AC Maroon on either printer.

On the Photon S, all the prints start to peel off a corner of the plate no matter how many bottom layers and exposure. I'm up to like 6 bottom layers / 80 seconds and 13 seconds regular exposure (which is way overexposed) and it still peels (see attached). Note I am not using a raft, it just kind of looks like it because I placed the parts close - but the problems happen either close or widely separated.

On the OG Photon, it does a little better - because I can use the resin exposure test I dialed it in just right to 12 seconds. Even still, some of the parts literally separated mid-print (that part that peeled up is not supposed to have done that, it's a hollow box).

These are parts that are properly hollowed and drain hole-d!

Is the Maroon just trash resin?

Is there anything special I need to do in Chitubox 1.5 to switch from OG Photon slicing to Photon S slicing?

I already created an additional profile for the Photon S, but I could swear I saw people having issues here and they needed to... do something with mirroring, or something like that.

Changing my fep, and I found one of these screws are stripped. What do you think the chances are that it's going to leak if I omit one? I don't have a spare.

How would you guys print a part with threads? I don't know a way to do supports for them that also wouldn't make the functional part unusable.

I bought that eSun yellow bio-resin on a whim about a month ago, and just finally tried it out because that is who I am as a person.

My dudes, this is legit good resin. I used the same settings as my usual go-to, Anycubic Grey, and the eSun had great detail, printed perfectly, and is not at all brittle post-cure - it's solid but with a tiny bit of flex when bent. I had one support that I misplaced running along the side of a part and I had no problems slicing it off easy peasy, where usually I would expect part of the support to shatter off, possibly leaving pockmarks behind.

I think this might be my go-to resin for printing wargaming stuff, if not for the hideous yellow color which doesn't photograph well.

While on the cons, also, it seems like it's impossible to pour from the bottle without getting a ton of resin into the threads - I kind of hate the containers.

That being said the pros really outweigh the cons, I like it a lot.

8/10 would print with again

Can minis printed with Anycubic resin generally be stripped? IE, soaked in simple green or dettol to remove acrylic paint?

Or do they absorb the stripper and swell?

Ok, I got a weird, hopefully fixable, problem with my Photon.

it's about 10 months old, and I've printed hundreds of things without issue. Normally I do not relevel between prints, I just remove the plate, remove the print, put the plate back. No problems.

Last thing I printed had a lot of surface area and was large, so it took some doing to get it off the plate. I knew for sure the plate had shifted. OK, will relevel, no big.

My ideal z0 is right around 12mm below the home, so I usually home it, down 10, down 2, try to wiggle the plate, feels tight, tighten the screw and re-z0. Done it many times before no problem.

Now, however something is pretty screwy. When I try to relevel now, I get exactly 2 options:

Option A: Too high. I have my vat removed and am using an old FEP between the plate and glass. I get it tight, no wiggle. I tighten and re-z0. I do a test print as is (no vat in place, just that spare fep. The plate homes, and then starts "printing" at least 10 mm off the glass. This is not where I z0'd it.

Option B: Too low. Same technique as above. This time, the plate moves to the glass, and makes a hideous grinding noise for about 3 seconds. Prints actually come out OK this way but I assume something is going to wear out. This is again not actually where I z0'd it.

Those are the only 2 levels I can achieve now no matter how much I play with the stepping (maybe 11 down instead of 12, playing with the smallest increments, etc).

Occasionally when a print finishes now, it also overtravels up - instead of moving above the vat about halfway up the track and stopping, it moves all the way up the track, keeps going, is stopped by the blue thing on top, and again makes a hideous screeching for about 5 seconds before moving down a bit and pronouncing the print finished.

How do I fix this? Can I fix it?

(follow-up edit: running the config file and re-zeroing totally did fix this).
