What is causing these z lines? It’s only happening towards the corner of the build plate. Other than this my printer is dialed in get essentially 100% reliability on prints. Granted I’m loading up the build plate but can’t this thing handle it?

So I bought mean green and an ultrasonic cleaner as people have raved about it. I will say it gets the parts pretty clean after 10 mins or so but the mean green is softening the resin and making it sticky even after sitting in the sun for a while. I'm using elegoo gray...

Any tips?

Ok gang. I have been chasing failed prints for over a month and have finally found a solution. My LCD was wearing out. The biggest tell tale sign was supports failing and not making it to the part they were intended to support.

My LCD test appeared perfect but after about 800-1000 hours of printing it had started to give me slight frame shearing and z lines like crazy. After leveling build plate, updating firmware, changing motherboard, sanding my build plate (highly recommend), re slicing already proven prints I changed it out. A bottle or two of failed prints later we're back in business! I hope this helps some of you that have serious time on their og photon.

Well I had a motherboard go out and luckily anycubic replaced it under warranty. Although it took 3+ weeks kudos to them.

I just tried my first print with the new motherboard and I am getting crappy horizontal lines and horizonal artifacts. Check the pics. Wtf?
I'm getting frustrated with this printer as I simply have never gotten super consistent results and being as detailed oriented as I am I'm sure other are tearing their hair out...
I updated the firmware to 4.2.18 as well.
My fep is fairly clear but not perfect... Better than many posts I've seen where people are still getting perfect prints. Tensioned to 320hz. Buildplate sanded/lapped recently as it seems people get better adhesion- mine stuck beautifully, and the base layers printed really nicely. Grrr
I've updated the firmware in the past to fix this issue but now it's doing it? Does it ever help to re-slice?

Before I tear this damned thing apart, could this screen issue be firmware related? You can see the test screen as well as a normal print layer and it doesn't match ? if I do need to replace screen can you guys link me please ?

This firmware is decent for printing usually but there are a few bugs like it doesn't show the model preview as you scroll through them...

what's the best tried and true firmware for the og photon?

Large supports are overrated...
These F16 cockpit parts were printed on the same printer, same settings etc with the only difference being chitubox auto supports large vs small. The large supports almost always fail and the small prints are perfect every time. I hope this helps some of you as you experiment. Not only do the prints not fail with small supports bit also the detail is enhanced by a huge margin. You can even read the writing on the handle. Hope this helps!

More cockpit parts... HUD and cockpit panels. I got really wierd aliasing on the HUD- the LCD showed strange layers as it printed so is it possible the file got corrupted?

I am still trying to get good prints with this resin, but already I can see a difference in detail quality over anycubic resin...
I'm getting wierd baseplate thickness issues and "webbing" between parts. This is a cockpit panel with a load of switches and you can see from the side the thickness is about twice of what it is supposed to be and deforms my prints. I did a resin calibration at .02 and it showed I need 9-10 secs/later so I went with 9. Detail is great where I need it but that baseplate tho... ? help! ?
