Friends: Does anyone recommend a sub $500 laser engraver/cutter that does good detail/resolution, can do or be upgraded to do rotary items (like cups and mugs) and is reliable? I'm not that afraid of kits but I'm looking for the most reliable and of the best quality I can get for that price point.

For reference, I'm considering the K40

I'm looking for a nice clear amber resin. My only real criteria besides the color and clarity (which I'll polish up with wet sanding and gloss spray) are that it be on the milder end of the fumes/smell spectrum. It's primarily for the handles of the Deckard's blade runner blaster but I think I could find some other cool uses for it. Thanks!

I just had a thought. I have an MRI on a CD that you can flip through layer by layer. How cool would it be to convert those images into layers in a 3D model and print a replica of your own brain!?

What do I do with these results from the nestacube test. The outer cube is 10.2 mm wide on a side and the walls are 1.2mm thick and the inner cavity is 7.7mm wide. The inner cube is 8mm on a side and obviously won't fit inside the outer cube. I'm using AC green .05mm at 10s.

EDIT: I think I may have answered my own question. I reviewed the 10s exposure and that seemed way high. Trying another at 5.5s.

My spouse says my AC Grey has to go because of the pungent fumes (even with the 3M filtration device I printed and added).
Anyone have experience with Siraya Fast Grey? I hear it has almost no smell? What about print quality?

I’ve noticed a reduction in detail since I’ve switched to AC gray resin from the AC green that came with it. A softening of edges and loss of detail on flat surfaces. Is this fixable with settings or is this just a side effect of more opaque resin? (I’m using the suggested setting for chitubox from the spreadsheet, 0.025, 11s exposure, 1s delay)
Edit: both underwent thorough cleaning in IPA and ultrasonic IPA bath.

I don't understand patreons that only have X lower tier memberships available. Do they not like money? I'm only going to pay what I'm comfortable paying, and locking me out of that level in an attempt to drive customers to a higher tier is just going to make me walk away. This has nothing to do with the Photon, so I will understand if this is deleted, but I hoped it might get to the eyes of folks who may need to see it.

I don't know if it's the resin fumes, but I've started talking to my printers like they are people. It really all started the day after I started using my Photon and realized I needed that thing that holds the print bed in the ultrasonic cleaner. My Ender 3 printed it and it was cherry. I mean, pristine print for FDM and I naturally congratulated him. I mean it. I mean, I didn't want him to feel jealous or inferior because of my time with the Photon, either. But damn, that was clean. So today I go down to check on the duct Ender is printing to help with the fumes and again, he's... er it's killing it. Looks amazing. So again, I give him/it the positive reinforcement I think he/IT deserves. So then I checked on Photon who is printing a gaslands motorcycle for me and he's doing great as well! So I gave him a good job too. That's when it felt weird. That's when I knew I had a problem.
