I'm trying to get faster adding supports to minis. I have been told many times to do auto supports in prusaslicer, and then run it through photon file validator to catch any islands etc. I feel like I'm missing something here. If I try to add these supports in chitubox, its a huge hassle, as the pre-existing supports get in the way of adding new supports. So, am I supposed to be adding the supports in Prusaslicer as I go through the validator?

Any advice on how to streamline this process is welcome. Thanks

Most of the time, posts here are asking for help...including mine. But really, let me take this opportunity to say thank you! This group is the most helpful I have ever come across. With the advice found here...I started off with a successful print...and haven't had a major fail yet! Coming from an fdm printer...my photon has been amazing. About 10 prints in at this point...so awesome to not have to tinker with it to get good prints. And just for kicks. Here's a couple prints so far.

Hey guys. I'm trying prep a model for printing, and the stl is pre-hollowed. I don't think it is big enough to make hollowing worth the work of supporting the inside islands. So, thought I would drop it in meshmixer and make solid. I set solid accuracy and mesh density to max (in an effort to keep the detail)...but it isn't solid. Any advice?

His foot came off the build plate...but it didn't seem to affect the print. Any idea why this happened and how to prevent it?

I'm trying to get faster at supporting models. Heard a lot about using prusa for auto supports. Two questions...First, what settings do you use in prusa for auto supports? Second, When I import into chitubox, I find adding supports SUPER difficult. Its like it doesn't want to add supports in most areas because it sees the previous supports as part of the model. Any way to get around this?

Hey guys. I've had a few successful small minis print out...and trying something bigger now. I tiled him back, and want to hollow him out. I'm planning on giving Chitubox a shot with the hollowing feature, but not sure how thick I should make the walls, and looking for any other advice as I get this bad boy prepped.

First of all. Big thanks to this group. Between sifting through posts and recommended resources, I was able to have a successful first two prints (dnd minis)!

And of course...now i have my eyes set on bigger game. I want to print something that is far too wide for the build plate. Looking for suggestions (or a video tutorial) for methods of printing bigger items like this that are not already split. I mean...I could technically turn it completely on its side, but that seems to be a terrible idea.

Alright. Hopefully last question before my first print. I have firmware 3.4.1 - looks like its a fauxton based on the fact it wont recognize the .photon. I really want to try a print tonight, so I figured I would just reslice the file in the anycubic workshop...but there are a couple settings I'm not sure about. the Z lift and z retract speed are mm/s where as the lift and retract speed in chitubox are in mm/m - so I should just divide by 60? Also - is there a version of firmware you guys recommend that I should upgrade/downgrade to so I don't have to deal with the pws thing?

Alright guys. Finally received my photon! Wooo! So...I will try to search for answers before asking tons of questions. But real quick. How clean does the fep need to be? I have a tiny amount of dust in the vat. And a small fingerprint on the underside. While I'm at it, whta do you all use to clean the fep? I've heard conflicting opinions about IPA vs soapy water.

First time prepping a file to print. I added some supports manually, but they look kinda huge, was wondering if that's just me, or if there are some settings I should be changing.
