Antialiasing question .. What setting do you use? The process should skip a total of pixels each layer for a smoother finish. But doesn't that affect the details? Thank you

It CAN affect the details... it comes down to what you are printing. I like to keep mine at 4x to have a compromise between possible detail loss and smoothing.
