Hello everyone! I'm still trying how my printer works, but sucesfully printed out a tiny Tetrarch tank today. However, I would like to ask about the texture on the engine deck and in general top of the vehicle...any idea what causes it, and if it can be made to be printed smooth?

My Photon is making a strange noise when it goes down. First time it does it and it just started a couple minutes ago. Anyone got an idea? I'll grease it, but not sure what grease would be the best. But otherwise, should I stop the print? Could it be something else?

I like b9creator for adding supports, but haven't been able to figure out how to set it up to the Photon's bed size. It won't save anything that's outside the bounds and the default entries don't cover enough space. Seems like you have to manually edit a config file? Anyone have entries appropriate to the Photon?

Does the Siraya Sculpt resin qualify as a slow curing resin? I ran the resin exposure tester, and it was only just beginning to get decent detail at about 20 seconds (end of the test run).

The settings in the spreadsheet are WAAAAAAAY different from mine (I tried them, and it was massively underexposed). Would that just be basic differences in printers? Or am I simply doing something very wrong?

Received my very first Photon yesterday. I must say without the resources of this group I would have been pretty stumped... so thanks all!

First printed the test cube at 50% which came out perfectly. Then on to a fire wolf which failed miserably the first time adding manual supports in b9creator. I switched to Chitubox with automatic supports, heavy setting, then modified them a little where I saw fit (albeit maybe a little blindly as a novice to this printer).

Also setup a rear exhaust from the get go. No smell whatsoever.

Couldn't be happier with the result.

Hi guys/gals

Couple questions... I’m reupholstering the seats in my vette. I broke a plastic cover plate that has been discontinued.

So far I’m unhappy with the printed results on my prusa. I like the texture the bed gives as it creates an OEM finish but getting the fillets not to look like chamfers with the outward facing side against the bed is where it’s coming up short so onto the questions.

1. Would anyone here be able to assist me in adding a texture to the model that resembles the texture of plastic on the interior of a car like a dashboard? I designed my piece in fusion 360.

2. Do you think standard resin once painted would work well as a retaining clip or should I get something stronger? on FDM I was planning on producing the final piece in PETG.

I finally got the heating unit setup for my Photon, turns out my power supply was too weak, I ended up getting a 12v 20a power supply and everything seems to be working just fine now
