Dingo "Hunter" in 1/56

Drawn in Fusion 360 and printed on my Photon in anycubic black.

Going to a manufacturer so you can't have my STL ;)

1/56年dingo "獵人"

用融合360繪制, 並以任何立方體黑色印刷在我的光子上.

去一個製造商, 所以你不能擁有我的stl ;)

Please stop using the spreadsheet exposure settings and learn to use the exposure test appropriate for your machine.

The spreadsheet figures vary wildly and have caused a lot of issues of late. The figures quoted probably worked for the person who posted them but they are highly specific!

Use the appropriate exposure test to calculate your specific exposure requirements for your machine in your specific location. If you get exposure related failures or conditions change run the test again to see if it's still right.

Blindly copying someone else's settings is like asking how hard they push the accelerator in their car, copying that and expecting to go the same speed. It can be a vauge guide only at best.

Edit: This is the the original Photon:
https://github.com/…/photon-resin-cal…/blob/master/README.md

If you have an S or other model you are going to have to do a bit of work yourself to find the exposure test ;)

Just for balance for the new owners; my personal experience of a year of ownership. There is a lot of stuff repeated as lore on here whereas my experience is very different:

I don't heat my resin and print in an unheated garage

I level using paper

I use Anycubic Black resin.

I fill my vat right up regularly and dip the ball joint (The horror!)

I tension my FEP with a bottle cap (No tuning)

I do have a Z rail upgrade as I had significant z-wobble

My prints only fail when I mess up the settings

Learn to level your machine properly

Learn to use the exposure test

Learn how to hollow, vent, angle and support your stuff

Faster prints are not better prints

Clean up properly after a print fail

Hold the bed when handling not the head

Always wear gloves and eye protection

Always have paper towels, IPA and space available around

Don't drink and print

Practice, learn, have patience, try again.

It's worth learning a CAD package (Fusion 360 in my case)

Happy printing

Rich

Noticed something yesterday - I'm printing in a freezing cold garage (-2 yesterday morning) and I was wondering about resin temperature...it's had no effect I can see.

However, I stuck a (gloved) finger in the resin after a 10.5 hour print and the resin is warm anyway from the LEDs I guess. It certainly wasn't the environment!

Bit of help please chaps.
I'm getting pretty poor surface finish. Anycubic black resin. 0.05 at 10 secs/layer based on the exposure test.

I've not had this problem before. Only changes are new batch of resin, AA firmware and z wobble upgrade. Z wobble has gone (no 2mm striping I had before) printed at 45 degrees.

Could this be over exposure?

I was struggling with Z-wobble so decided to fix it. Turns out my Z-axis has a notch in it... causing the carriage to bind and wobble.

I'm a sucker for over engineered solutions so I bought this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Twin-Rail-Z-Slide-Upgrade-for-Standard-Anycubic-Photon-3D-Resin-DLP-LCD-Printer/163754642007?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
It's extremely well engineered and fit beautifully. Well thought through and even the packaging is well thought out (Similar to the original printer with shaped foam).

Given a linear rail adaptor is $60 plus post and tax (Don't want a printed one) and then add the rails and delays... I had this in hand in 3 days and fitted in 15 mins. Worth the £100.
Install vid here: https://youtu.be/zCk82397qnk
Only thing I had to do was bend the z-stop vane - I suspect I clonked it...
Z-wobble appears to have gone entirely. Pics to follow post cure. 翻譯年糕

OK getting Z wobbles. Regular banding in the z axis.

I'll try resetting the carriage bearings but has anyone tried a coupler between the lead screw and motor? Is there room?

The lead screw should be unconstrained in the x-y plane but it looks like the motor just has a rubber isolator. This is why loosening the motor screws can work.
