Something a bit tangent to the topic is how to create a cast from something you have printed. This is typically much cheaper and WAY more reliable if you plan to sell any of your models in bulk. I printed this on my Photon using the same resin that came with the printer.

I have designed and 3D printed the medallion from Captain Marvel's traditional comic book costume in order to create a resin cast! Want to see my amazingly crappy video of the process and maybe win a copy of the finished cast? ;-)

Hello all ! Today just tried for the first time the Photon printer and I need to address a issue with a print. My fault probably, cause I never tried a resin printer before.
I tried to print a cube - 2 parts - and what was supposed to be all straight, is curved (like some kind of dome) or warped - the part near the build plate, with the supports (auto-supports in the photon slicer).

My settings are the default ones in the photon slicer (need to learn more about exposure time, and off time).
I love how the rest of the parts are , but those ones near the build plate are awful..

The resin is the one that comes with the printer...

Any hints would be awesome, or where can I learn more about the settings for a great print.

thank you

How the pieces should be placed ? Like a 3D printer, with the bigger area face facing down or on the side ? I've included a screenshot of the cube in the slicer...

PS: The photo with the build plate (blue background and a green blob on it) is my first attempt printing a Marvin from thingiverse... Don't know what went wrong...

Anycubic Maroon at .035 11 sec exposure and 90 sec bottom, 9 bottom layers, really happy with the results.

I bought the printer and came with clesr green, no problem, very nice resin, default values in the slicer, then got skin, some drama, more base layers, longer exposure times... And ready to print again, but resin ran out and got 3L of orange resin and new drama began, base layers not sticking, then supports printed, but no model, it gets pancaked in the vat, 8 layers at 120 secs, then 0,5mm 10s on, 1off, any idea? Changed supports from medium to heavy and got the pics in with the gloves on, just supports and a foot printed, cannot share the model, its from a patreon.

Thanks for reading
