Okay I'm trying to diagnose a problem with my Photon: when I power it up, it starts ticking or pulsing in the display never turns on. Any idea why this might be happening? Here's a video:

Sorry, another stupid question. Is using different color resin just a matter of preference, or are more opaque options better for certain types of prints? If I’m not mistaken opaque takes longer to cure. The green has been working well and I have a bottle or the black or gray (i forget) that I got to experiment with. But now I’m wondering if there is any reason to try out a different color of resin and just keep buying my trusty green.

So I was useing anycubic yellow to good success, I then switched to monocure rapid gray.

Now the bottom of the prints, the side closest to the plate and supported, always seams to be shiny looking, less detailed and has a thick look, with not much sharpness to it. The rest and top of the prints look fine though. Was wonder what would cause this. Layer height is 0.05 and 13 second expo.

Si I finally got my printer to print nice minis but I find that they are very brittle. I am using ameralabs AMD 3 led. I am trying to cure it longer but has anyone used this resin before and have any tips? I am still really new at resin printing.

So, ran my second prints today and got a better idea of what my issues are. Printed in Anycubic Green at 0.02 with 7.5s Exposure, and 40s on the 10 bottom layers. The main issue is that while the "top" of the prints look damn good, the "bottom" is very lumpy/bumpy and don't match the file. I also noticed that there were a few layers that seems to be ....shifted maybe? Not sure exactly what it was, I did pause the print a couple times but there are 3 layers that seemed to have this issue. Any ideas?

Lead screw squeak. I have used lithium grease on my leadscrew (I also use it for my cnc) but on the photon the squeak seems to return after 2 or 3 prints, I think resin fumes affect it? Anyhow, on last service of the photon I happened to also be lubing my bike chain, which uses a much higher performance lube to stop it flying off the chain, so gave the photon screw a squirt. 8 prints in its has not squeaked yet.. YMMV

Not the easiest print, but totally worth it. ?

Gut hulk to stick to the build plate at last, 120s adhesion layers! Now that it printed I can compare with the Phrozen version. Again the biggest difference is that the grey is much better for photography, in hand exactly the same.
