I think I just broke my photon trying to replace the LCD screen. I'm not getting that test square during uv detection. Any suggestions???

hey good folks. this was a 7hr print that didn't come out well at all. could anyone point meas to what went wrong. it was monocure rapid black, .05 layer, 15sec exp, 2 sec off time, 60 sec bottom layer and 5 layers. the plate was leveled before the print and the resin shaken and stirred!!

This discussion popped up yesterday (idea of leaving resin in the Vat, instead of draining when not in use). Coincidentally, for my prints i have been doing since i got my printer early this week i have been weighing everything to figure some numbers out. So i thought it would be worth passing on my findings for others. This is by no means perfectly scientific, but i found some relatively consistent number:
I was roughly losing 8-10 grams of Resin every time i drain the Vat and clean it, regardless if it was 1 or 3 minatures. Some of that would be including the leftover resin on the prints that i clean (but i consider that negligible). So this equates to losing about $1.50CAD - $2.50CAD in waste. I was draining the Vat and cleaning in between each print just to see what i lost.
I was printing Miniatures and their weights varied between 2.6g and 4.7g. The supports would add 70%-100% weight to each print. FYI the weight S3D calculates for supportless mini was almost exactly accurate (maybe within 0.5% of actual weight)
My conclusions from my tests to improve cost efficiency were (in order):
1) Leave the resin in the Vat for as long as you can
2) Cut back on Support if possible (you could only save a couple grams here)
3) If you have to clean and drain, printing multiples together will cut your costs drastically. (this is obvious, but worth writing down)

Hi, does anyone have attemp to record a timelapse with a gopro? I want to record one but my concerns are: if Its posible to print with the door open?, if it’s posible does the light and what things can affect the print? (The printer is in a room with no direct sun light actually Its a little dark), If it can’t print with the door open can I put some white led lamps on the outsides of the printer to help lighting inside? To help the gopro, otherwise Its going to be hard to see something trough the dark blue covers, Or do you have some different ideas or advises?

At the risk of making a fool of my self again. Is there a reason I'm getting this bulging on the support side? (I don't know if its normal or not, but you can see the old SLS version as a comparison). I've also had supports that should have cleared the model but fuse to it.

My setting are:
Monocure grey
Layer 0.05
exposure 20
off time 1

I'm trying to stay positive but I'm just not getting the results I hoped for and I don't know if its a limitation of the machine, resin or user error.

I was going to post last nights build it looked like it came out great but the underside was ballooned and warped.

Thanks for the add. Got the ok to get a printer and seen the anycubic printers. Just have a couple question. From what i have seen they are awesome for miniature’s. I plan on making battletech miniatures i think they are 1/285 scale. And terrain. Whats its like to clean the and use them. Is there lots of down time with them things breaking and stuff.?
Also have kids at home so is the smell really bad?
And info would be greatly appreciated.
