If they have glycerol and hydrogen peroxide they can make hand sanitizer. The world health organisation did a post on how it's to be done

I was told IPA and aloe vera gel? Dunno, but when I offered it they seemed very keen, so must be able to use it :)

Nice. I’m inspired to do the same. I’ve got a gallon I can get rid of. I think that’s more important then anything I’d print.

This is the recipe if you want to make hand sanitiser with 1l of ipa you can probably make over 1.5l etc

Kelly Sealey , that is nice of you. Would do the same, but I clean with water and dasty (simple green lookalike stuff) Here I just read a share on FB from someone working in a hospital near, that visitors are actually stealing desinfectans and gloves and such... Good thing I don't catch people doing that... cause I'd be tempted to give that person a valid reason to have to stay at the hospital after such an act....

Gave the surgical masks leftover from when my mother was still alive a few years ago (she had lung infection) to my neighbour's daughter who's an OR nurse... here in Belgium, thanks to the idiocy of our politicians, the order of masks never arrived due to suspicion of fraudulent actions on behalf of the producers, one of the health minister's party member being involved in it... and when no other European country will help, it's the chonese people who will help us by sending tons of masks in emergency. They even sent respiratory equipment and doctors in Italy to help !!! Kudos to them for that too !

I have another batch to make, but half of my gallon is all going to a church that delivers lunches to kids who are out of school and rely on school lunches for a meal. They are getting about 3,500 lunches out a week, and coming into contact with people in the process. They wear gloves, but have said it would be nice to have sanitizer. This alcohol is doing way more good then just washing resin off of D&D models.

Just opened a new bottle of Elegoo grey resin, but realised too late that it's the ABS-Like unlike my previous bottle. Are they similar enough not to worry or should I cancel the print and rework the settings?

Hi gang - is there a formula we can use to work out total print time? I'd rather use a spreadsheet to calculate it so I don't have to keep slicing to find out how long a print will take each time I change a setting.

Hi all, I need to do a rough quick part print at 0.1mm in Elegoo grey, there aren't any settings in the database file and I can't run tests as my printer is busy, the deadline looms so I hope you may be able to help me out.
So far I've been getting good results at 0.02 layers, 14 seconds and 4 base layers at 115 seconds, can anyone give me a rough idea of what to change for these thicker layers? The parts are tall and thin (3mm) and I hope to print them direct on the build plate as they'll need the full height available.

Ok so I'm trying to update the firmware having never done this before. I'm nervous as I don't want to break anything, can anyone guide me as to which order to run/print these files in please, I have tried finding this basic info myself but can't seem to locate it.

One for those with experience using UV nail polish. Stay with me, I have a point...
My printer is in a small cabin with no extractor, I have to heat it (it's freezing outside in the UK at the moment!!) so no open windows or anything. Needless to say I'm not working in there while the printer is doing it's thing! Today I've had a 14 hour print going and have just checked in every few hours. Each time I come out after just a few minutes of exposure to the contaminated air and the nasty taste of resin is stuck in my mouth, just like when you have fresh UV nail polish and you get that horrible taste from your nails.
So, if UV resin is so bad (which I've no doubt it is!), why on earth are people putting it on their nails if there's the slightest chance of any residue getting into their mouth?! Are (mostly) women slowly poisoning themselves? Or are the two things very different somehow?
Also, those of you using nail polish to colour the resin, are you using UV nail polish, or normal air drying stuff? I feel there's a cool crossover here that needs exploring!

Do. Not. Trust. PreForm!
I used it to calculate the resin usage on my print (added supports in Photon slicer, exported to .stl, imported into PreForm) and it was way off, by like, a third! Luckily I checked just before disaster hit in this 14 hour 150ml+ print, the only loss being a couple of non-essential supports and a small chunk from the side (you can see it on the left side near the bottom) of my print which I can work with. Amazingly, after I quickly dumped more resin into the tank this amazing little printer just picked up and carried on, so the rest of the print should be ok now. My old Form1 wouldn't have done that!!
I'm using Anycubic white settings 0.05, 10, 1, 70, 8. My printer has been happy with stock settings so far, so fingers crossed tomorrow it'll clean and cure in the sun just fine with these exposure settings.
I did discover, when I saw just a small puddle of resin left in the tank, that the tank isn't perfectly level. The resin was sitting more to the right side of the vat, hence the anomaly on the left. So tomorrow's job is to level the machine and vat to help with future prints. Every cloud eh!

The standard setting for Anycubic Green are on the Google docs file, but does anyone have settings for Anycubic black? Might have to top up my green with black and wonder if it'll print out ok. I also have white but think black should mix better. Any tips?

It's been a rough day with a few printing failures, but my record since getting the photon is this: 1 successful test cube then 3 successful prints when I had time to set them up without distraction, and 3 failed prints while I was wrangling a toddler during setup. I think I can see the problem!
The latest success is wonderful, I know the Photon excels in organic shapes, but I needed a more engineered part, very large, thin walled but almost filled the plate and build height. Well it came out beautifully! Removed supports before cleaning which I discovered was much easier than after as they bend nicely :) , used IPA pour/spray and wipe, didn't wash, left to air dry then cured in the sun. Used settings from the Google docs file at 0.05 layer height. Can't show the full thing sadly but you can see how nice and straight everything is :)
Really happy with this one. Trouble is, I need two and with all the failures today my green resin is running out. I have black and white Anycubic resins here, if I have to top it up during the print which would you put your money on for success?
FTR no toddlers were exposed to anything harmful, I just couldn't give the Photon my full attention and that messed things up - the last fail was down to my only tightening one side of the resin vat down, doh!
