Well I am definitely a photonster and going to be pulling the trigger on a second Photon :) I was going to wait for the next gen and bigger build, but looks like from what they say it won't be until early 2019 for that one. Soooo.... I decided to get a second Photon and then the larger build next year. It's not like I won't be using them, probably all will be running at once!

Now... I DO want a good FDM printer, can anyone recommend one that prints relatively smooth prints and not the horrible layer lines I have seen?

Guys, I have a bit of a conundrum here...

Wanted to print a bust. Tried to twist and turn the model in every conceivable way, but the validator kept showing small islands. In the end I decided to take the chance and print it anyway.

And...

Well...

What on earth happened here?

The base printed just fine, but of the bust itself, nothing can be seen except the supports and a lot of gunk in the vat. But how on earth...? How can it print the supports just fine, yet miss the figure itself completely?

sorry folks me again!! these pictures show the second of 2 failed prints after sorting my last problems!! the raft on this was perfect but the rest turned out like this. I used medium supports which were great for the last successful print of this building.

Whats gone wrong???

So, yesterday was my first day with the Photon. Got set up and got a good first print. Haven't cleaned it all up yet. What are some of the important things to know as a new Photon owner? I've only had the Monoprice Mini before.

And export to collada, that can be opened in blender
