sooo. question.

My printer has been printing amazingly so far Zero failed prints.. but I have a question.

I went to re level the build surface incase I moved things over time.

Once i get it so the paper is getting caught, and then tighten down the grub screw, then set the z=0

If I move the platform up and then press home, shouldnt it move to where I set it to Z=0 ?

it seems to always be a bit higher than the paper thickness..

Hey guys!

Living in Sacramento means dry, hot summers. I was thinking of housing the Photon in a shed protected from direct sunlight, but I’m concerned about the upper limit of the operating temperature.

Can anyone confirm what temperature the printer could be run successfully at? It probably gets to around 38C (100F ish) out there, so I’d like to know it would be ok before making the choice. Thank you!

I've seen a couple posts regarding a new firmware for the photon. However, it's naturally not on AnyCubic's website. Could someone please post it in the files section for the group if you should have it? Unless of course it's the same update.lcd file which is already there.

thanks!

Hey guys! Been reading this forum like mad the last few days to try and solve my issue. I've also contacted Anycubic as well.

I've leveled and printed the test cube - came out great.
I've printed a couple prints for myself - came out great.

I went to go print another print and....nothing. I thought it was odd and set it going again but I stayed in the room to check. I noticed that when the print plate went down into the resin vat (with resin in it) there was a LOT of beeping. I had never noticed that before. The printing plate stayed in the resin and didn't move. I looked at the LCD screen and it showed me the first layer it was going to print and then there was just nothing. It didn't show the estimated print time or even the layers. What I was printing had 912 layers and it showed 0/912.

So I read the forum.

I leveled my print plate.
I cleaned my resin vat - nothing on the FEP (film, cloudy, dents)
I cleaned my LCD screen - nothing on it.
My resin is the AnyCubic green they give you.
I tried the only have one print job on the USB stick.
I've tried the unplug and plug in the USB and the power plug.
I've tried the dedicated power source.
I've tried a new USB stick - formatted in FAT32, copied the files, safely removed - got memory error.

Anycubic said to do a new USB stick and that they'd get back to me on Tuesday due to Chinese Holidays.

What am I missing?

I have seen it might be my power supply, my mother board, or a corruption in my files. Did I miss someone posting the new file for the USB stick?

So here is an oddity, it's like the supports never printed. I checked the bottom of the vat for them and they weren't there either.

As a side note I'm still haveing screen flicker issues even with a new PSU and an update to the LCD.

On another side not I've about had it with the monoprice resin

Post processing question: Do you do the alcohol wash, dry, and cure before support removal?

I'm not sure if anyone else posted this...If you are casting printed pieces, you might want to check out the Santa Fe Symposium paper on resin casting.
