Hello everyone, do I have to use any special resin in order to cast jewelery mould?

My 3rd successful print. (4th try)
Will take a break due to vacation.

Now trying something useful.

Learned some few things:

1. Watch out for close contact parts. Resin gets stuck in between those. And consider how resin drains.

2. Resin prints are brittle with normal resins. FDM prints are more usable daily. Design for thicker parts.

3. Orient parts with an angle. And try to use less supports.

4. Resin prints are kick-ass!

I was going to make a post about my prints not sticking to the build surface..... until I realised it was a stupid rookie mistake and my bottom layer exposure times were way too low.

This printer is bloody awesome!

Bucktown Polymers EP200-V420-FF. I like the resin, but the cure time is too slow for me to love the resin. The price is great, $149.90 for a gallon shipped to the US. I have some empty bottles coming if anyone wants to try it out themselves. I just ask you to cover the shipping. The setting I use at 0.050 are 30 seconds, 1 sec off, 80 seconds for the base layer and 8 base layers. There is a smell, but not like the other resins, it is more like the old photo developing chemical smell.

My Monocure resin arrived today. Thankfully the bottle looks okay. It wasn't packaged very well, and nothing inside the box to protect it.

Oii mate.. looks like it froze again lol. Was supposed to finish at 10am earlier had to step out. Its mow almost 2pm still at 75%... and yes, i have joylit power supply. Boo

I just played with some settings in Configuration.gcode file posted by Toby Kirby ( btw thanks for this Toby and Steven Charles Underwood who told me this) and I decreased peel lift distance from default 6mm to 3mm, also I increase peel and lift speed from default M8015 T2 to M8015 T4 which gave me about 25% fast printing time and don't now why but my prints have more sharpness and accuracy than before.
Thought mention that I use NextDent Cast resin which is a strong one so don't know if this will work with other resin very well. I think it depends on resin used.

having hard time with nova3d grey. haven't had one good print. .4 8sec 8 bottom layers at 60 sec. doest stick to bed.
