Hey all, anyone have some links to some photon ready files, the lattice cube test print went great, nut i want to make sure the machine is dialed in before i start to branch into making my own supports etc so i know any failures will be on my side and not machine calibration. Thanks!

My printer should be here Monday and I already know what file I want to print as one of my first prints after I do the setup and sample prints.

I need to resize it though. The object in the stl file I downloaded is a Buck Rogers Starfighter and based in the size it looks like it is 1/32 scale and I want to print it in 1/72 scale so it will match the rest of my 1/72 scale sci-fi fighters.

What software should I use to for that? Also what is easy to use to edit and modify stl object? I'd like to remove the cockpit canopy area from the original stl so I can either print it in clear or print it with the window area removed so I can put clear windows in. I also want to hollow out the area under the canopy after it is removed so I can print a cockpit and control panel. Oh, at 1/72 scale it should fit the build area, but if not how do I remove sections? I don't want the program to just cut it up in random pieces, I'd like to remove the engines, the rear stablizers and if needed the front of the laser cannons at a nice clean separation point.

Thanks for the add! Been a resin printer for just under a year. I have a Phrozen Make. I just had to try the Photon, as I am working on a big order of military vehicle miniatures to be used in classes to help teach military officers, and I need the output!

I just received the Anycubic Photon. First impressions:

Packaging - Top notch! Packed well inside and out! I now have all kinds of foam for my paint and model projects!

Documentation - nothing with the machine, but a quick search and I had a YouTube video and the pdf documentation. Video done in English, and very easily followed!

Setup - extremely easy. Quickly up and running with the z-axis leveled in a minute. The touchscreen makes it a dream!

The unit - solid! Also has a larger build volume than the Make. The vat only has a few screws, and uses aftermarket FAP! IT ALSO HAS A POUR SPOUT BUILT INTO THE FRAME! There is also a charcoal air filtration unit built-in, not sure how effective it is yet. Also came with various tools, a 4GB USB stick that was blank (should have had a test file and slicer on it), and even a small (250ml) bottle of green resin.

Software - here's a downfall, but not huge. It uses a slicer I'm not used to. It seems clunky compared to B9 Creator. But still easier than the NanoDLP slicer. I could still support and slice in something else, I think?

Printing - looking good so far with the default settings on a complicated print 1:216 scale M1A1 tank

Biggest Con - no wifi/LAN printing. Everything is done by USB stick. Just a hassle after printing over LAN for so long. NOT a con when you talk about upgrading firmware, though. No hidden sd card slot deep in its bowels!

Did I mention the awesome touchscreen interface? It's easy to read and understand.

So far I'm really liking this inexpensive resin alternative! Phrozen could really take some tips from Anycubic's DLP entry into the market, especially with packaging and the interface/firmware update arena. This thing is pretty nice!

Alright, I don't currently have photographic evidence of this issue but has anyone encountered a file they've downloaded that shows up somewhat transparent in spots but only from certain angles? When in stock software it was transparent and in mesh it had red spots in those areas. After just running it to see what happens it was mostly successful but one of the red/transparent areas failed completely, as if it never even attempted printing at all while two others were perfectly fine.

Noticed that my build plate was wobbly. So I tightened up the grub screw until I almost stripped the threads. It still wobbled. Long story short.. I took the assembly apart and put a couple of layers of tape on the "ball" part. Problem solved. No more wobbly build plate ?
