Hi,
I made this "torture" piece based on the failures I was getting with the Photon.
I realized "holes" become less and less defined the more exposure time they get.
Isolated details below 0.47mm (470um) are not printed.
Long details with width of 0.047mm (47um) (the printer stated resolution) are printed but end up measuring 0.30mm (300um)
10 by 10mm strutuctures on the corners measure 10.32mm x 10.32mm, and 5 by 5mm structure in the middle measure 4.83x4.83mm
So, on the periphery details are augmented, in the middle they are reduced.
Concentrated details clump together if there is less than 0.47mm (470um) between them. But print just fine is at least 2x 0.47mm in between.
Holes and cuts on the base are never well printed or close to true values.
Unsupported structures print better the thinner they are (strangely,..)
This is a torture test. I was not expecting to get good results, I just want to expose the weaknesses so we can try and find ways to overcome them.
I join in annex the .IPT file and .STL if anyone wants to try to print it. I would be very thankful if anyone can add on this with some knowledge on the subject and possible improvements.
Resin used was Anycubic White.
Parameters were;
Layer: 0.05mm
Normal Expose Time: 12sec
Off-time: 1sec
Bottom Expose Time: 55sec
Bottom Layer: 4
I realize those are long expose times and might adversely quality, again I was not expecting success but assessing the limits.
Thank you.
