Hi all! First post :) I'm considering a Photon but I'm looking for a little info regarding resin temps. I have a Moai SLA that uses resin that requires a temp of 25+ so I had to mod the printer with a heater. Does anycubic resins also need to be at a certain temp? if so then how have you got around this? The internal chamber doesn't look like it has much room for a heater to be installed.

Also is their any common problems I should be aware of?

So a little bit of brown pants time today. The photon finished a print as normal. Went on to the next one and the LCD mask
was doing all sorts of random lines etc. The control lcd was also showing about 1/4 of the image it should have been on the far right like it was sqashed. Confirmed it wasnt the file I was trying to print or the USB stick. Test image showed an old TV fuzzy/snow like image. Firmware flash (4.2.12)sorted it luckily but had updated it just a week or so back. Bit of a worrying thing to happen with less than 1.5l of resin having been through it so far. Anyone had similar experience? Is flashing to fix it a common thing or perhaps iffy firmware?

Hey guys. Just thought I’d post a tip after a week. ( not sure if it’s been posted) I’ve had quite a few failed prints over the last week. The first few I would remove the resin and then clean it off the vat. It was quite a mission trying to get it off and not damage the vat. How ever I started removing it with the resin in without taking the vat out. Comes off way easier and with less force.

Some functional parts I've printed recently for a cap firing toy flintlock.

These are prototype parts which I'll next used to make moulds from. This will allow me to cold cast the parts in a tougher more durable polyurethane.

But these alone allow me to test fit, movement and action with each other.

Eventually the lock plate will be cast as well, but I wanted to also test the parts would be compatable with the older laser cut version.

First print, first fail. And so the game begins ? Probably alignment error from what you guys say over here. I’ve used Flint Read’s method, probably went too light on pressure before 0.3mm raise and zeroing it out. Next I’ll try the paper method - after I clean this mess..

Does anyone recommend sanding the photon build plate for better adhesion?

I have noticed with heavier prints that they do tend to fall.
