So, I got my 2nd Photon. First one was blue with floating lead screw. this one is yellow, different knob and a blue-er screen. guess they got complaints on the older touchscreen.. mine is 'bubbling' on the side (1st machine).. might be the plastic protector, but I can't get it off. Also different power supply, but we'll see how long this one lasts. Seems to be a better quality control on setting/placing the LCD screen. I'm still keeping the plastic on the windows though. Also as a side note, anycubic resin is thick like molasses. I've been using a different resin that's like water in comparison

About to make first print. Using yellow clear. Should I just use stock settings?

I searched before asking, but to no avail.
Would i be able to print this model at this size?( i can angle it a bit more so is not that much out of the print zone)?

thank you

Hi every one. Just got my photon today, and starting to set it up. Been producing stuff on Shapeways for several years. Now I have to learn a whole new way of setting the prints up.
First thing that comes to mind, seeing how important getting the build plate set correctly, and the base layers just right.
Are some failed prints, and problems down to people using different weights of paper. They vary in thickness tremendously. Any thoughts, recommendations.
I will start with standard printer paper. The stuff I have is 90gsm.
I think saying use a sheet of paper, is a bit vague.

Printing for the first time and I am noticing that the top plate shifts as it goes down and up. Is that normal? I put the screw in and tightened it but it’s still wobbly

After some initial issues with sticking to the build plate I got a print sort of working.

Any ideas why the legs failed like that? I'm trying again with more dense supports.

Also, I couldn't find a resource for UV lamp curing times. Any suggestions?

Third print and having issues. First print - the cube - worked great. Second print (a space marine, seen behind the BOS model) also worked great. Moved onto the gray resin and I have this weird issue. I tried printing 5 minis at once across the plate and these two are the only ones that weren't pools of solidified resin in the vat. For these two, the supports printed fine, but parts of the model didn't.

I cleaned the vat out and wiped the surfaces with 99.9% IPA before printing. I can see tiny scratches on the film of the vat after using a microfiber cloth; the instruction manual says to use a paper cloth so I assume that's normal and okay?

I've re-levelled the bed using the paper method and will give it another go tomorrow morning, but has anyone experienced this issue before?

Also, what are the signs of needing to replace the FEP film or LCD screen?

Thanks in advance

Okay, I am frustrated... In the AC V1.3.6 Slicer... I import a model -any model, raise the model to 5.00mm (or any measurement) off of the plate, add supports, then when I leave the supports tab in any case... the supports shrink to a layer VERY close to the build plate. In fact if I were to try and print this wolf off of Thingiverse, it would probably be stuck on the plate and the first mm or so would be useless. I tried the method from Frank Kincell and it did the same thing.

Help?
