I use monocure clear and it turns out very fine.
But is there a way to get it more transparent?

//btw, I use ameralabs FEP-film for a couple of weeks and replaced it now for the first time. It simply works like a charm :)

Hi all.

PSA: I want to share with you my noobtastic mistake so that all my laugh at my folly and learn from my example. All I can say in my defence is sometimes you just don't know what you don't know.

After burning through the resin that came with the printer on a comedy of errors, including storing some of it in an airtight glass container in a spot which gets direct sunlight in the afternoon, I finally had a print that stuck to the metal instead of the plastic but was horribly warped and broken in half. Progress!

After buying new resin I tripled the exposure time and ensured the image was perfectly centred. Finally, I had a print complete! But it was strangely twisted.

I thought, if only there were some way to keep the build plate from wobbling around during the print process. I tried tightening the screw further to see if that would help. It was as tight as it would go... but then I noticed the second alan key. "What is that for?" I wondered.

I undid the screw and discovered a second one deep inside the hole and used the second key to tighten it and as if by magic, the build plate became stable. You know, like I should have done the first time I set the thing up.

I've now realigned the zero point for the build plate and tightened the screw properly. I expect the print run I'm currently completing will be my first fully successful print. I look forward to sharing some great prints with you in the near future.

My Wanhao green was nearly finished so I just added FTD ashy grey and it printed fine! Haven't emptied my Vat in ages....I just fish out the pieces of cured resin. I always get jelly-like resin in 2 places in the Vat....only after a print. I think it is uv leaking slightly.

Hey all. so I am gonna be picking up a photon here soon. I had some questions. does the software allow you to see how much material will be used for each print? Basically, I am trying to find out the price value of a print. From what I gather, a jar of resin is much more expensive than say a roll of filament for a normal 3d printer. I am gonna be printing somethings and need to know what to charge for them, based on how much it cost me to print.

Has anybody tried adding a damper on the Z Stepper motor? I’m debating on adding one but I’m not sure if it will actually quieten it or not.

Not sure how to quote other posts but on Garret Bertrand recent post about "z-wobble" I wanted to see if maybe the slicer was contributing.My tests didn't seem to fix the "Z-wobble" issues but I did come across an oddity.
Taeo Gerrits recommended this https://github.com/Photonsters/PhotonFileValidator to examine the .photon files.

What I found was that while playing through the Preview 3D there was some crazy flashing and the base for the supports would randomly dissapear. BUT when I changed the Contact depth value this flashing would stop and all of the prints that failed previously stuck without issue!

I dont know if this helps but it was very strange.

Another awesome print, using a mix of Monocure Flex100 and Gunmetal on our beloved Photon done at 50um and 13sec exposure time. Also i always use the platebond To make sure the bottom stick well.
