We wanted to use our Photon for the first time. The leveling went good so far, but the UV-Screen detection does not work as intended we think. According to the manual there should be some sort of violet frame with a black insert displayed, but ours looks like this:

Any advice greatly appreciated...

Hi All, I was hoping this wasn't going to be my first post ? , got a photon off of the well known auction site wednesday, so this morning I was getting all fired up about doing my first resin print. Levelled the printer as per the instructions, sliced the model, put some resin into the vat (bottom of the bevel) selected the model hit start, and the display showed 2% when some of the magic smoke was released and it all turned off.

The psu was very very warm and smelled of electrical components burning, the fuse in the plug hadn't blown that was all ok. Managed to clean everything up, empty the vat. And this is where I'm at, anyone have the same/similar problems, anything that I can do so that it doesn't happen again.

Any advice gratefully received.

where can i get a replacement lead screw?

So my first mini print dropped his crossbow. I didn’t realize I had to add supports! I know now, and I used Meshmixer to auto generate support.

My question is, how do you go about learning how to MANUALLY add supports? How did you learn WHERE to put them and how many? I just feel like the auto support was maybe overkill? Then again, I’m so new to this, maybe it’s a necessary amount. What other things do you wish you knew when you were new to printing?

How would I go about finding out how much resin a print would use ?

Still struggling with getting consistent prints. Just started using Anycubic Gray. There are no suggested settings on the spreadsheet. Leveled with Flint 's method. Moved it inside to help with Temp, I had positioned both these parts flat on the build plate and it has failed 4 times, so I am going to try it as they are in this pic...any help would be great :)

Resin Settings: L 0.05, NET 10, OT 6.5, BET 90, BL 8
