Supports...

In a strange kind of way when I first started printing I got some strange sense of satisfaction removing the supports. That passed though! Now they are a pain. For the most part they come off pretty easy, but every now and then there is a couple supports that are so close to the object being printed they are fused to the object and impossible to get off. I wouldn't say it ruined the print, but it definitely added work from sanding and sometimes filling.

I'm still learning orientation and right now I use auto supports, which I think is my problem.

Well I blew out a print... my fault. Resin was running low and I thought I hit pause and I must have hit stop. first thing I noticed was the build plate went to the top and not just up enough to be out of the vat. I added resin and started printing. I noticed the build plate wasn't going into the vat and just moving up and down out of the resin... 10 hours of a 13 hour print blown!

My fault though not the printer. I think this BSG shuttle is a cursed print! The first print was also my mistake, I got the scale wrong. I'm just about out of the Wanhao 'urine clear', and waiting for my Monocure to arrive. I'll be trying the Bucktown later today.

maybe a silly question, but why do i need that fan in the printer blowing out my smelly resin exhausts? what if i plug it out, wouldnt that be a little bit better?
otherwise i would print that rear adapter and that exhaust fan hole plug. so it should let me breath some fresh air.

any thoughts, someone tried only to turn it off?

unexpected use for my photon. My airbrush's delicate pedal (thing? the bit you use to regulate pressure and air) broke off so I designed another pair - about to finish printing in about an hour, will update. Gray resin should be fine for the job I suppose.

Hello everyone. I'm still having some issues with my photon. I keep getting failed prints. The thing is Im starting to think it is a mechanical issue. It seems like the printer is freezing up. When the print fails it wont let me raise the Z axis until I shut it down and restart it. Then just now while cleaning it all up to try again I raised the Z axis, cleaned everything, then it wouldn't let me lower the Z axis until I turned it off and back on. It wouldn't home, manually raise or lower, etc. Have any of you experienced this? Also when the prints are failing they are just "stuck" at some random percent. Last one was stuck at 3%. The bases of the minis were attached to the build plate and looked great. It just stopped. I have also changed out the usb thumb drive and I have loaded the newest version of the slicer. Any and all suggestions welcome. Including introducing it to one of my shotguns.

So, got a little start on priming prints from the Photon. :-) It's car parts for a game called Gaslands and miniatures for Pathfinder/D&D.
