Just some quick impressions on the Bucktown Polymers very-fast resin.
I purchased a 4 liter can for $139 delivered, which works out to less than $35/liter. I really love this!
This resin is pretty versatile. I've gotten good prints at a range of curing times at 50u - from 50-60 secs on the base layers, and from 8-13 secs on layers, depending on colors added. I know many of you love to read exact data, but I'm lazy like that.
I have printed it straight clear, deep black, and a dark orange, color provided by FTD dye. I used A LOT of dye, because I am not a fan of the "clear" colors. A basic breakdown that worked for me, and may provide you with a base to start your own testing, all done at 68-70 F (room temperature):
Clear - 50 sec x 6 base layers, 10 sec layers
Deep Black - 60 sec x 6 base, 13 sec layers
Dark Orange - 60 sec base x 6 base, 12 sec layers
Adding dye seems to really change the consistency of the resin. It's not nearly as viscous as the Wanhao resins, but thicker than Makerjuice or Nova3D. Adding dye seems to thin the resin a bit.
I do notice a better print after the resin has been warmed a bit. For example, after a print or two in a full vat, the resin is naturally warmed, it seems. I recommend possibly warming the bottle of mixed resin (or the proportioned bottle of clear from the can), maybe above 74-76 F, before pouring into the vat for your first print.
Again, this is not a full scientific breakdown. I just don't have time as I am pumping out prints for a custom project. Maybe, when I finally finish, I will set-up an organized, detailed testing plan
BTW, this resin works on my Photon AND my Phrozen Make, and at the exact same cure settings, so it is a great option for me - less to remember!
