Hello all. I am considering an atom 3d printer. But I can't find any info for a heated bed. I know it doesn't come with one. But has anyone upgraded theirs? Or is there one in the works?

Hey Erik! I recently upgraded my atom to utilize a heated bed. It can definitely be done, but there are a few things you should consider! If you're going to put on a heated bed, make sure to upgrade your power supply, or get a completely different one to power just the bed. I made the mistake of trying to run everything with the power supply provided in the kit, and fried it.. If you do get a HB, also consider getting an aluminum plate to spread the heat better - the thermal conductivity of aluminum is ~ 250 times that of glass. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the advice Carmelo Gonzales . Did you also enclose yours? And any particular bed you would recommend?

I have not enclosed it yet. I'm using an Onyx V3 ceramic bed. You should also look into Kapton heated beds, they are also pretty good!

Thank you. I will look into it. What size do i need? I can't find the dimesions of the build plate anywhere. Also can the Atom print with specialty materials? And how hot can the hotend get? Sorry for all the queations but they don't tell you everything on their site.

260 mm diameter circle fits very nicely inside the standard mounting clips of Atom2's glass build plate.
