thanks, that's really helpful. I'm still a little confused though, as what I have looks more like the 0.2 in the above image but if I run the extruder and measure the resultant spaghetti it appears to measure out at, or close to 0.4

Has anyone experienced this issue? It's an atom 2.5EX
so my printer has a bad habit of going insane and trying to jam the hot end into whatever its printing as hard as possible causing the magnets to detach. It's not a gcode problem because the same thing will print fine one time and go disastrously wrong another.

i recommend to raise the Z-hop height.
