So here's something I've been wondering at for a little while. Most of us agree that we should keep the cross section to a minimum if possible to reduce suction on the FEP, either by changing the orientation or hollowing out.

But on those first few layers, when you have a large number of objects in which the supports and their bases cover most of the build plate, other than elephant's foot, what's the point of tilting a model back?

Seems like Printing a model flat on the build plate for a millimeter or two would have roughly the same effect as the support bases until the model starts to hollow out, ya?

2 things:

First, anyone know what the default distance is between the Z=0 and the Home? My Google fu is proving weak.

Secondly, why didn't they include a 'go to 0' function like they do with the Home so I could adjust my height a hair without having to go through the whole releveling process? ?

Picked up one of those solar/battery powered turn tables to use for curing. In case anyone was wondering, UV LED's do activate the function. No batteries required.

In 18 hour print finished up this morning so I went down to check on it like I always do. I saw it had completed and I was very happy until I saw it doing something strange. Although the print had completed and had raised up to drain, the display was stuck at 80% and it had kept dropping down as if it were dipping into the vat. Does anybody know what happened?

It worked! I am more than a little surprised. Very happy.

Whelp.... it finally happened. I ran out of resin and lost my print. At least the 3 shorter pieces were complete so it wasnt a total loss. Still. Let me be a cautionary tale and make sure you check your levels!

I'll get better pics post curing, but this is my longest print to date. Printable Scenery's Vomiting Tree A. .04mm layers at about 16.5 hours.

This printer never ceases to amaze me.

Ok, so bit of learning for me here. Trying to determine what the specific cause of the failure is. As you can see, the base did not print correctly on the one model and the other lost a foot. My best guess is something in either the suport settings (medium 50% density, auto (which I checked to make sure it was supporting the lowest parts of the base and foot and have something to build on)), or it's something in my exposure settings. Any advice?

Welp, fixed my build area issue and my barkeep looks a lot better than v.1.0. Very happy with this build. But a new question arises: how do I determine what is the best cure time? (I'm assuming the whitish/cloudy spots are from overcuring). Just trial and error until I get a feel for it? Does the UV lamp penetrate the whole model? (I cured it on its face and back 90 sec. Each until I get a box built for it).
