Left is the Photon, right is the i3 Mega-S (FDM printer). Just found it interesting to compare the same model printed on two different types of Anycubic printers.

So I fixed my Photon (yay!) ... But then the black tab that holds the white ribbon to the touch screen fell off (boo!). So I’m back to a non functioning printer...again.

It turns out the z-axis wiring is REALLY touchy, and if it’s not PERFECTLY making contact on the motor, it will make that horrible buzzing sound I was getting. So that’s fixed, but without any way to attach the ribbon to the touch screen I’m back to square one. FML.

So out of the blue I got some package from Anycubic in the mail. I've been so busy with having new flooring installed and a 9 month old I haven't had time to send support pics of the ribbon cable they sent me by mistake (instead of a new mainboard). I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume this cube-shaped box likely contains the actual mainboard they were originally supposed to send? I'm to tired take a chainsaw to the 1,000 layers of packing tape the box has been hermetically sealed in right now. I shall report back with my findings soon though!

Anycubic support fail. This is not a mainboard replacement, but a display ribbon cable. This won’t fix my z-axis motor. Part of me wonders if I’ll ever print anything ever again ?

Z axis motor not responding. I can’t lift the build platform at all now. I’m beyond disappointed in the sketchy QC on these printers. Sometimes it works, sometimes it acts dead. I’ve tried a new power supply. I’ve tried numerous USB sticks. I’ve tried multiple .LCD firmware flashes and .gcode config updates. NOTHING. My printer is DOA. The screen test works, but I can’t get my platform to raise or lower at all. I just want the thing to work at least most of the time ?

First impressions of Monocure Rapid in gunmetal grey -- pretty good. The test matrix @ 14 second layers w/3 bottom layers at 50 seconds turned out nearly perfect. I have used Monoprice (not MonoCURE) grey and I think this stuff is going to work out better...call it a hunch, but the cured resin doesn't feel quite as "brittle". Little to no smell as well. Doing a 3.5 hour print now to see...*fingers crossed*

Question: If I decrease the layer night for more detail to 0.03 from 0.05 should increase the exposure time, decrease it, or leave it the same?
