Well. I had a day off on Monday. I finally took apart my Photon to put in a third screen. Thankfully it came apart fine.

But why is this machine so damned hard to install things in?

The four screws that hold the case go into these little troughs so if you can't get the screws back all the way to the other part with an allen key (provided) it falls into the trough and is nearly impossible to retrieve.

To put the screen in, I slid the ribbon into the slot on the red flat table, and of course it doesn't just go down to where it's needed, it has to be pushed over a wall so the ribbon can reach the connector. Which you may not know until it becomes harder to do.

Removing the UV pyramid is equally frustrating as the other screws. The allen key provided is JUST long enough to remove the back two screws, but not long enough to ensure they get to go back in easily.

Putting the unit back together is incredibly frustrating as the bottom doesn't align easily to the sides, and you have to get those screws in perfectly through two holes to the body, without losing them in the interior again.

But dammit, with some incredibly sticky double-sided tape, I managed to get the new screen in.

My FEP was really cruddy so I replaced that. Luckily the video Anycubic provides on YouTube is amazing. It worked like a charm. The tightness of the FEP using that Coke bottle cap is amazing. Like it was done professionally.

I did a new print in Anycubic Green and it failed. Dammit! I haven't had a successful print on this thing for over a year.

So I found it may have been a corrupt file.

I put a different file on the bed that was NOT corrupt, and ...

IT WORKED!!!

I mean it printed really nice!

Today I used my first bit of Monocure Clear and it printed! PROPERLY!

Ok... I may be back...

That’s it; i give up.

New screen, not anchored down by glue that used to hold the original in place and it stuck to the FEP and the ribbon trashed as I tried to remove the bed.

I’m out.

Last year my Anycubic Photon screen was clouding. Lots of misfired pixels, forming holes in my models. After some time, I finally got a new screen, which sat around for a very long time waiting for me to find time to replace it.

I finally replaced it two months ago, and have since tried 3 prints to see if it worked. The best I could manage was the very base of a model printing, but nothing above it.

Today I tried again, and was very frustrated. Since removing the old screen required removing that black gluey stuff that held the old screen down, nothing was holding the new one down, so I used two very thin layers of Scotch Clear Tape.

Only on the left and right sides, away from anything that could cause that minor height to cause issues. Today I removed that tape, and when I pulled it up...

... up came the plastic covering that was on the damn screen when I got it!!!

So... I'm printing another file now. I don't know if the screen was causing the problem, but I suspected it from the beginning, and tried feeling around the edges of the screen for that film, and could find nothing. It was so perfectly attached.

Lifting up the tape pulled part of it up, and I was finally able to remove it.

HERE'S HOPING!

I got some printing to do!!!

Well!

Back in June my screen crapped out on me. I was getting holes in my models because there were large areas of dead pixels.

I bought a replacement screen but botched the replacement job. And the test pattern was showing as all on, not a rectangle outline.

Last month Anycubic sent me anew one and it arrived Thursday.

I tried to install it today.

Bad news: the previous screen is kinda glued down and removing it is proving to be hard, and shards of glass are everywhere!

But the good news: I plugged the new screen in and confirmed it is working perfectly!

So hopefully after I remove the rest of the current shattered screen, I will be back in business, 8 months later!!!!

Well that's it. My printer is not working at all after replacing a new screen. I mean it powers up, but when I use Detect, no rectangle shows up... all pixels are clear.

And I have no way that I am aware of to fix it.

Was that $530 down the drain? (Not to mention the dozen bottles of resin I bought?)

Should I just buy another one and have that one fail too? Or just leave this printer alone and find something else?

Help!!

Replaced screen, and now Detection only lights full screen and not the rectangle!

What went wrong and can it be fixed?

Did I damage the connector which is so incredibly tiny??

While I was away on vacation my replacement LCD screen came.

Is it supposed to have the silver backing?

Does anyone make a nice solid yellow resin?

I love the clear yellow Anycubic makes but I’m looking for an opaque for a saleable product

How does one manually create the superstructure supports in the Photon Slicer?

Is it even possible?
