I must update my opinion on chitubox. I’ve managed to get 3 perfect prints out of it in the last few days and this is how:
Hollow the model and add holes in mesh mixer. I still haven’t managed to get chitubox to reliably hollow, or add holes, without getting layer errors in the slice file.
Manually add supports with no sphere attachment - cone only - to the model in chitubox. Support bases are cylinder with no raft. Slice in chitubox.
Open the slice file in the photon file editor and find any major islands. Fix them in chitubox and slice again. Rinse repeat until there are minimal unsupported islands. Fix any pixels left over.
Send to printer. It’s well under 10 degrees Celsius in my city at the moment and I cbf bringing the printer inside or putting a space heater in my printing shed outside so I’m just winging it in the cold
?
so far so good!
I wish for 2 things. That one piece of software was all that was needed to hollow, slice and find/repair errors, and that there was a couple of paintbrush options in the validator.
