I was using a Sparkmaker.
Now I have a Photon.
Night and day.
Omg.
First noticed... the photon has amazing construction. Its heavy. The Spark feels like a toy compared.
Both the slicers are the same, so I dont care for the manipulation in the slicers.
Photon has a larger build plate which allows more... stuff... but it is significantly faster in building.
The same slice (as close as I could get) on the spark was 8 hours. The Photon was 4 hours. It's about 125% faster to print.
Quality.... I would say the Photon is not failing on a print and generally has more perfect prints than the Spark. Spark had a tendency to drop supports even lower to the point they didnt appear to be seperate from the base.
With the spark I was lucky to print 6 minis and have them all perfect. With the Photon I can print 8 (I'm sure I could squeeze 9) at a time at twice the speed, and as long as I didnt screw up supports, they will be perfect.
Mini display on the photon is great. Also the spark only allowed one slice file per SD card. The photon has a thumbnail of all the slices on the card.
In short .. the Photon is worth twice the cost (approx) of the spark!!
