有我可以很容易用我的光子列印的covid面膜嗎?

Printing the mask would be the easy part. Finding the appropriate filter for it, now that's the hard part.

to actually use? you're safer just duct taping a hepa filter straight to your face.

i had many failures because the mask size are bigger than photon printing plate surface.

.... But you also need to find proper filters for it. The filters need to be able to filter 20 nanometer particles from the air. That's .0000006 of an inch for you imperial folks. Without those specialized filters you might as well make a mask out of cheesecloth

Im not joking either. even SLA prints can be breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses. Filament and SLA resin is not antibacterial rated and definitely not anti-viral. I work at a university that does a lot of 3d printing based research and you would be astonished at how easily bacteria and viruses can grow on 3d printed plastics and resins.

Also extremely difficult to clean due to all the crevices. Even SLA. There are ways to postprocess and coat prints to avoid it, but the materials are probably in relatively short supplies themselves at the moment.

Be careful, no UV resin I am aware of is tested for long term skin exposure.

No because you can’t print a mask capable of filtering out things bigger than .3 microns

you are not filtering out .3 microns, you are not filtering individual viruses, you are filtering airborne droplets which carry viruses

Funny that this cropped up. I was just watching about 3d printing (FDM) a mask out of an anti-microbial PLA.

for people who 3d print a lot, y'all don't have many actual masks do you?

agreed. I would not use any resin unless it's medical grade resin. The standard resins are not!

I reckon the fumes from offgassing resin would be more detrimental to health than just catching the virus

I'm so tired of these "don't do this" arguments. Go print masks. Put in a filter medium. Maybe a few coffee filters, maybe some fabric. Or both. Understand that they will not work 100%, maybe not even 50%. So what? If you take three measures that poten
tially reduce your exposure by 20% each, you might have doubled your chances to not get infected. None of us want to risk getting this little critter, nor spreading it. Most of us under 50 will fully recover, even if we get it. The goal is to keep the strain on the medical system as low as possible, so that those of the riskiest groups can receive the medical care they need. Meanwhile, I'm keeping three printers busy churning out 50 of the budmen masks each day so I can bring a big box to medical personnel if needed. I have enough filament to produce about 500, and more on order. Go do the same.

A close friend of mine cofounded a regional chain of immediate care clinics - something like 20 of them in three states. He now oversees training and procedures for 200+ doctors, and 600+ PAs, RNs, etc, and "would use them in a heartbeat." The budmen shield masks guard against splashes and droplets.
