Hi All

Can I ask anyone who owns a New Photon, with software version 3.4.1 , if at the end of a print , the platform travels at the way to the top and push the whole Z rail back a few mms,, i.e it tries to go past the end.?

I've been making some test prints in EasyCast and printed our Dragon Head 4 Times (first a Single print then 3 at the same time) and the single print and 2 of the triple print failed its the exact same fault.

in the Photo you can see on the top and bottom dragon the horns are missing , the rest printed fine.

Do faults like this point to a faulty mesh?

Looking to try Zbrush, just getting started in Organic Modeling, Will ZbrushCore do while I'm learning or are too many key features missing, Don't care about rendering.

Trying to get more detail from my prints.
I needed to redo the Templar Knight ring , has it was a model designed in a app I no longer have, so off to Fusion360, I reworked it a little then reprinted, this time I turned off AA, because I read some posts here AA can impact fine detail.
So here are the photos, Left original - Right rework + screen shot from CAD
Any thoughts welcomed.

Hi All

MAde the mistake :) of upgrading my Fauxton to firmware 5.0.2, it can now see .photon files but locks up 98% of the time, so I can never start a print, USB with only .pws files seem to work OK. :(

I've email Anycubic , still waiting for a response

Does anyone know if I can flash it back to an older firmware?

Sorry if this has been discussed , does the Photon have a Z - limit switch at the top?, noticed on my Photon when the Plate is travelling to the top , it pushed hard up against the top.

Pleased to meet you :)

Recieved my Photon 3 days and a starter bottle of the Soy resin in grey.

I mainly design Silver Jewellery and replacement/mods parts for collectible toys and dioramas.

Till now I have been using Shapeways and Commercial casters for my 3D printing needs but am hoping to find a resin that will suitable for Loss wax casting.

After a bit of play starting to get some good prints.

Would I be right in saying the Soy based resin is better for organic models then high detail sharp edge model?

These where printed together and the Dragon head pendant is better then what I get from commercial casters Wax printers but the Templar ring is missing some of the sharpness . The Spartan shield is not round looks like I needed more supports at the bottom.

I guess that will do for a first post :)
