Just so my fellow Amazonians know, Anycubic site claims to have Resin in stock, and they have 2-5 day shipping for free. Amazon is quoting me April 20th for anything. I'll report back if I actually get my Resin inside 2-5. Liter on Amazon is going for like 37 on Anycubic its 41, but I'll pay a lil extra to get it before 4/20

Anycubic is in China. Everything from china is 3-4 weeks out.

Amazon... yeah. I had some stuff say the 20 of April, it showed up this past Saturday

William Tatum
2020-03-31 07:48:38

Thats really good to know. I might put in an order than just to see if I get lucky.

Matt Leese
2020-03-31 07:49:38

William Tatum , I swear its a 'if we have time (or less critial' orders) kind of date

William Tatum
2020-03-31 07:51:18

Matt Leese I am strangely totally okay with this. But I am known as the rapacious capitalist in my group.

Matt Leese
2020-03-31 07:52:24

William Tatum , this was the project.... the 2 EVA cases to the RH side is what I was Waiting for..... to organize my Airbrushes.

William Tatum
2020-03-31 07:53:30

Matt Leese I love Cricut! I've been tempted to get one of those too for making decals and such. If I really get a print shop business going I'll probably end up having at-least one of those.

Sonny Green
2020-03-31 07:54:24

I got Elegoo Gray in 7 days this month....

Matt Leese
2020-03-31 07:54:38

Its nice to have. Quite a versatile macine! I was also playing around with the Engraving bit/ option today too.

John Chrapkowski

It’s showing up way before they stared at order time here. Nothing more than 4 days

Dane Bennett
2020-03-31 11:15:30

3d printer stuff is under the "Industrial & Scientific" section on Amazon, they claim there is no delay with items of this and a few other categories.

Jeff Lee
2020-03-31 14:06:43

All my Amazon orders for the past couple of weeks have consistently given an estimated arrival time of three weeks from the day I placed the order, but most of them have shipped within a few days, and arrived one or two days after that.

2020-03-31 18:26:08

Same. I ordered last week and it'll be here Thursday.

So, the verdict is in, STAY AWAY from Monoprice Gray Resin. I have had nothing but failures with it. I've printed with Sain Smart, Elegoo, and AnyCubic with no problems. Every model I've tried to print with Monoprice Gray has failed. I've fiddled with my exposure settings, 70-90 sec base layers,5-10 base layers, 10-14 seconds per regular layer and even small bases just warp right off the plate. It's definitely adhearing to the base plate on the first few layers, but not well.

I bought 3 bottles, returned 2, sucks to eat a liter, but hopefully I'll save y'all some heart ache.

This is the BEST I've gotten out of it so far and these are tiny lil orcs super light weight

Chris D'Andrea
2020-03-31 03:22:12

I had the same thing with a liter of Anycubic Green. The 500ml that came with the printer was amazing. I bought a liter and no matter what I did it failed 80% of the time. That being said I imagine that this is cheap resin with little to no quality control so one bottle may be pure shit and the other perfectly normal. Reminds me of when I was in the Navy drinking San Miguel beer from the Philippines. One bottle 2% alcohol the next 15%.

Andy Turtle Consiglio
2020-03-31 03:54:49

Chris D'Andrea big oofff...I bought the anycubic green and I'm wondering if that's why my prints are coming out poorly

Sean Croteau
2020-03-31 04:21:05

I had no issue with anycubic green. Did have problems with plate adhesion on Siraya easy but monoprice plate bond fixed that. Everything else is exposure tuning and making sure you shake the bottle well. Also if it’s too cold at the resin it may not react properly. All my prints are done in 63 F apartments.

William Tatum
2020-03-31 04:46:31

Sean Croteau yeah I know I have no problems at all with any of the any cubic resins it's only this Monoprice resin that I've had this particular issue with. Average ambient temperature in my house is 61° Fahrenheit to 69 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the time of day

John Chrapkowski
2020-03-31 05:11:32

You had me at stay away from monoprice ? ?

William Tatum
2020-03-31 05:16:43

Andy Turtle Consiglio I mixed it with Elegoo Gray 70-30(favored gray) and it made really nice prints.

Andy Turtle Consiglio
2020-03-31 05:42:45

Nice! I'll check it out!

William Tatum
2020-03-31 05:57:36

Andy Turtle Consiglio I also really liked how it looked it's a different kind of green for sure it's almost like a creamy green. I still painted over it, but it was nice to look at.

Vincent Balmont
2020-03-31 11:31:51

Chris D'Andrea anycubic Green is my fav. Nothing but awesome over 3 bottles. Anycubic clear on the other hand wasted half, then mixed the rest with green to save it

Chris D'Andrea
2020-03-31 19:09:05

Vincent yeah zero QC but that's expected (at least I feel that way)

One feature I would really like is some kind of resin sensor that stops the print if it detects that it's out of resin.

From titan forge, I just got their patreon for March. They give a massive amount of files

William Tatum
2020-03-29 00:33:27

This month is the month to join for them for sure. Dbl release month. So many great models

William Tatum
2020-03-29 00:34:44

Mike Ravn Bolin Titan Forge. They rock and next month they start free supported model releases. So excited!

Mike Ravn Bolin
2020-03-29 01:01:27

already a patron for like 4th month. I just havnt looked at the scifi stuff xD

William Tatum
2020-03-29 02:06:26

Mike Ravn Bolin I'm new to them this month. I've printed most of the welcome pack, started in on SciFi and Dragon empire. Supporting them takes me a while still. Probably an 2-4 hours per model including the validation bit, which I maintain is the worst video game ever.

Mike Ravn Bolin
2020-03-29 02:12:47

i only print singles from their selection. Still it's great value

William Tatum
2020-03-29 02:24:10

Mike Ravn Bolin I've got a bit of addictive personality and I want to run a multiverse campaign so I'm printing bits and pieces from all of their sets and some others too.

Vincent Balmont
2020-03-29 11:25:47

William Tatum takes me about 5 mins each, manual support, no validator. 3d printed Pro has good videos how to do it with minimal support

Vincent Balmont
2020-03-29 11:26:26

William Tatum I'm also doing a multiverse campaign that includes my star wars stuff

William Tatum
2020-03-29 11:31:17

Vincent Balmont yes totes agreed his videos got me into this. Definitely takes me ALOT longer than. 5 minutes.

Vincent Balmont
2020-03-29 11:36:04

William Tatum usually takes me an hour, and I have about 10 minis on the tray, longest part is doing the last few when u cant see properly because of the rest of supports

Mike Ravn Bolin

Is that resin any good

William Tatum
2020-03-27 03:35:50

Kane Gibson it's supposed to be pretty close to Elegoo Rapid Gray. I haven't used it before. But they were basically the only vendor I could find who could get me.resin before mid to late April

William Tatum
2020-03-27 03:36:29

Kane Gibson that said, it's Monoprice, they usually deliver a solid mid-range product.

Kane Gibson
2020-03-27 04:03:17

William Tatum ok I was looking at it the other day

Kane Gibson
2020-03-27 04:04:10

William Tatum I wont have resin till the 2nd week of April

William Tatum
2020-03-27 04:07:53

Kane Gibson I'll report back after I use it. I'm currently working through a liter of Sain Smart Amazon resin. That resin has been good, but it is MUCH more brittle and I have to be a lot more careful taking supports off.

Kane Gibson
2020-03-27 04:48:29

William Tatum ok thanks

Darren Donovan
2020-03-27 07:14:59

I used a liter recently and had no complaints. I was not crazy about bright green color though but that is what I ordered.

2020-03-22 10:39:32

10 days? Really? Those are some hardcore painting skills! Maybe you can do a tutorial or simething I printed a spitfire and took me 3 days to finish it

William Tatum
2020-03-22 10:45:48

Israel HV nah I'm just ADHD as fuck and have had more down time than usual. I hyper focus like a mofo and just machine out shit.

Honestly before today I hadn't ever painted a mini other than. 20+ years ago and that was with a can of flat black spray paint.

I did work at a Michaels for six years as an inventory manager so I know how the stuff works mechanically but had never used any of it.

I watched a couple of YouTube videos from Games Workshop and just tried to do like they did.

Tony Shadman
2020-03-22 10:59:00

Addicting isn’t it?

Tony Shadman like crack, only better.

Jonathan Basseri
2020-03-22 11:47:12

You are excellent at painting those. I've seen some people mirror a model when they are printing more than one of the same thing.

William Tatum
2020-03-22 11:50:27

Jonathan Basseri I did that for some of mine. The chaos demons are mirrors. But the human Mercs aren't just a trio of the same model.

William Tatum
2020-03-22 11:51:01

Thanks! I am enjoying the painting more than i thought I would. It's a new creative outlet for me.

Brandon Bennett

Brandon Bennett

I am new as well and finding it difficult to find all the types of D&D mobs

William Tatum
2020-03-22 11:55:26

Brandon Bennett the dwarves mostly came from Artist Guild on Patreon. The big Mech and big Demon in the back came from Titan Forge on Patreon. The large angel and undead cleric came from thingiverse. The rest were part of the welcome packs from either Titan Forge or Artist Guild. I HIGHLY recommend either.

William Tatum
2020-03-22 11:56:01

Brandon Bennett check Patreon. Be willing to spend 5-10 a month and you won't be disappointed.

Shane Thomas I highly recommend watching the videos from 3DPrintingPro on YouTube. That guy knows what he's doing. I just try to do like him and I've got about 85% success rates.

William Tatum
2020-03-22 23:40:29

On those fine lines. I've found that u can get like a qtip or something finer and dab a wee bit of liquid resin into the crack and then hit it with a UV flashlight works wonders at removing them and being easy to sand or paint over.

William Tatum
2020-03-22 23:42:28

In terms of the bit at the base though, I have similar issues when I print flat on the build plate. Even when perfectly leveled about 1/3rd of my prints placed flat on the build plate have that effect. Raising them up makes more work, but ? don't get that effect so long as supports don't fail.

Not sure of that makes sense.

Ryan Shelvik
2020-03-22 23:42:54
