First time doing grey, I think transparent green was a little easier to work with, or more I got greater detail. Will give it another crack to get a little more detail.

Hi. I used to be a CNC programmer and used Autocad and CADCAM quite a lot. I have noticed a lot of comments regarding some confusion regarding Z=0 and HOME.

They are two different positions on any machine. HOME is were a machine takes its own internal references from. 0, whether on the X,Y or Z axis (or even the A,B or C) is where the starting point of any program runs from.

In this case 0 is the height above the base of the resin vat that allows the first layer, and all successive layers, to be cured from. ie. 0 can be 0.2, 0.3 or 0.5mm above HOME. That is dependant on what you have set your layer height at.

Decided to set recalibrate my printer since my print failed yesterday and have noticed something odd.
I set the z=0 when the paper has some friction and moves the build plate. But then if I move the build plate up about 100mm and click home it doesn't go quite as low as a set it and the paper moves freely with maybe more than 1mm to spare. Is this expected?

Hi guys,
i just bought my Photon on Aliexpress yesterday with the current nice discounts. I cant wait to receive and try it ! ?
I have few questions about where to put my printer and how to handle the resin vapors.
I am living in a kinda small appartment with a 5yo kid and without any dedicated room where i could put it. So i was thinking about 2 solutions :
- to put it outside in my balcony, but the weater is starting to be cold in Paris. Is the resin working well at low temperature (let's say 5°C) ?
- to put it in night in my kitchen that i could lock and do this kind of air extraction : https://plastikjunkies.de/anycubic-photon-absaugung-raus-mit-dem-geruch/ . Do you guys know if it's safe to put it close from food ?
Do you have any other idea ? I need to find a solution before to receive it or my wife gonna definitely kill me ?
