PSA. TIL, The Meshmixer hollow tool is far better than ChituBox.

Exhibit A. I was prepping an illithid model in Chitubox and when I went to hollow him with a 2mm inner hollow it generated 3 hollow chambers. One under the robe, one in the chest, and one in the head. Not only that, but it generated some trash geometry in the robe that doesn't make any sense.

Exhibit B. Meshmixer seems to perform its hollow function in such a way that connectivity with the base is preserved, so it ends up generating a hollow from the robe and into the torso, but not the head because presumably with the 2mm size it couldn't connect the head cavity.

Exhibit C. Not only are the hollow results far better, but the preview of the hollow is even far better in MeshMixer, where it overlays the colored hollow within a transparent view of the mesh.

If you haven't grabbed Mesh mixer, it will save you headaches of not having isolated interior cavities that you then must punch additional holes through unsightly places, or deal with strange degenerate geometry that Chitubox generates on occasion.

If you know of any other pros/cons of mesh mixer I'd love to hear it. First impressions are really good.

So my new ultrasonic cleaner arrived, it's huge compared to my other cleaner, I can fit 2 of the smaller ones inside. Now I can use my smaller exclusively for my airbrush.

Hey all, I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I’ve been printing some tiles but lately the prints have been coming out all a bit .. warped/melty? Is this most likely a support issue or exposure time?

Older versions had different supports although I didn’t think they were THAT different. As far as I remember exposure times were the same.

Melty tile and old ‘good’ tile for comparison.

I’ve updated to the latest firmware and I’m still getting shearing... the model is good, and it passed the validator. I’ve contacted anycubic support twice and still have not heard back (it’s been a month or so). Any ideas or help?

Hi, new Photon S user here. Am i getting it correctly? At this moment Chitubox is still not compatible with Photon S latest firmware which makes anti-aliasing available. To use anti-aliasing and the Chitubox support goodness simultaneously, a walk-around is possible that is to set up supports in Chitu, export STL, import STL to Photon_Workshop and from there generate .photons with anti-aliasing. Is this right?
