Rando pie in the sky thoughts:
Would it be possible, perhaps with a firmware and file format change, to pause a print and change exposure times on the fly? Like for swapping vats to print in another color the way we've done with swapping filaments onFDM printers.

Obviously resins with similar times wouldn't need the time change but if say I wanted a strong base in Blu but a flexible top out of Flex? (Or flex in the middle with Blu end caps) Could open up a whole new world of designed products.

I'm getting a bit more into fine tuning settings and have been wondering about minimum support lengths. Are there any good rules of thumb on how long supports should be?

Would anyone mind if i set up a group/sub group specifically for Photon owning zbrush modellers? Would quite like it to be affiliated with this group if possible, whats the best way of going about this (obviously i know how to set up a fb group)?
Vinicius Silva , Sen Kun would this be ok? By the look of it we have a fair few people interested in the group which have an interest in modelling for the photon so could be a nice thing to have to discuss tips and tricks etc...

Please feel free to delete this post if it breaks any rules etc.

Anyone using anycubic clear I have some looks great after printing but once I cure it turns colors and is pretty fragile compared to the supplied green
Also wondering if I could thin it out too it’s kind of thick and even though I print at an angle it doesn’t run off some flat area and leaves extra resin cured

Not sure if you can really tell in the photo but the supports in some of the prints failed under the base of my mini and on one in particular (right of pic) failed really early or snapped off during print yet still finished the upper portion of the print. This is my first print with a different resin to what it comes with and the settings are all stock. Any idea how to fix this?

Hi all, just received a replacement screen for the photon with a metal back plate! Am I missing something? Do I take it apart to expose just the screen or have i been sent some dodgy copy?

Total noob, so sorry if it's a dumb question. Trying to get this mini to rotate in the slicer as the general consensus seems to be rotate things or they stick to the FEP. However, both Y and Z axis rotation has the same effect...Am I just dumb or is this a bug?

I see a lot of talk about the FEP here. Which is best, which is cheapest, etc. Too often IMHO, the FEP is discounted as an expensive sheet of plastic - it is far more than that, so I wanted to share some info on the FEP that will explain my reasoning for spending a bit more on my FEP…

Resin printing (both DLP and SLA) is an interesting process that requires extremely strict material requirements. Films made from fluoroplastics FEP meet all these requirements in a cost-effective manner.

One of the problems of the process is relatively high pull-off forces after layer generation. The surface of the" working top ", i.e. the bottom of the resin vat must therefore be anti-adhesive against a wide variety of materials. In addition, it must not release any chemical compounds or particles to the liquid nor be attacked by it, i.e. it must be as chemically inert as possible. High mechanical stability against abrasion is just as desirable as a smooth and flat surface and certain stiffness.

A good FEP brings properties of high optical transparency and low friction. This allows for the ultraviolet light to penetrate into the resin, then after the layer has hardened, the build plate can move away pulling the hardened resin away from the FEP film.

To quantify the FEP as a sheet of plastic is a mistake that could payoff through failed prints, or worse - a failed FEP! Every single layer of every single print has two things in common, the build plate and the FEP. It seems illogical to cut a corner on the FEP. Everyone has the right to decide for themselves, and I’m not posting this to say anyone is right or wrong. I am simply providing you with information so you can decided for yourself if the potential savings are worth the potential pitfalls.

Enjoy and happy printing
