Hello! After 6 months of using the printer, an intermittent sound appeared while driving down. I think the screw also spinning intermittently. Along with this, lines appeared on the printed model. It can be seen and heard on the video. Did anyone have such a problem?

So I just tried to print with Chitubox 1.3
No Z axis movement. It doesn’t even try. I selected the Photon as my printer. It slices and outputs just fine. The printer reads it no problem. But when i hit print it immediately starts exposing. Doesnt move the plate or anything

What the heck am I missing?

Hello everybody. Thanks guys for helping me remove the fail print from my fep. Is been printing amazing. Until this i just print my first mechanical part i have been printing heads and organic parts why this is happening. The curved look at the bottom. Any knowledge will be greatly appreciated

Does anyone have any experience with Elegoo Gray? Since the Anycubic Gray Resin has apparently enter the endangered species list, I've been looking to make a switch.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I'll be setting up a photon in the next week or so. Can I get some pics of your working areas, to see what your on-hand bits and bobs are?

I plane to line the desk with builders plastic, and rest the photon on a serving tray as splash management.

I already have a friend printing out a thingieverse vent adapter for the rear. Adding ducting and an inline fan. Charcoal filter if required.

I already have a few litres of iso and an ultrasound machine for cleaning airbrushes.

I have built a curing chamber with a UV spot and UV tape, a steel bin and a small turntable.

Help!

Running into an issue suddenly that sounds somewhat like something in the known issues FAQ: "Z motor stops moving mid-print, LCD keeps exposing resin, no error message, stopping print and moving Z via menu works."

Basically I start any print and the Z axis works normally. When it gets to layer 2 or 3, the Z axis just stops functioning and the LCD keeps on displaying layers as it normally would without any movement. Generally speaking, the build plate is still submerged in the resin, where the last successful layer was prior to Z movement stopping. This happens even on files that I know have been "good slices"(as in, I've printed many times before).

If I cancel the print, Tools>Move Z will not respond. If I power cycle the printer, I can then use Tools>Move Z to move the plate up.

Things I've tried so far:

-Updating firmware to newest
-Eeprom reset
-Reformatting USB (using my own USB)
-Using a different USB
-Reslicing files

Anyone run into something like this and found a way to fix? I also sent an email to Anycubic but figured I'd check here while I wait. Thank you, Photonsters!

Question:
Pleased with the results how the print looks, however, I use it for dental lab, and I did a model test printing a model that I already had in plaster, and I tryed on a tooth I made (not printed, I made it out of Zirconium) and it fitted tight, did not fit right for about .1 or .2 mm (it is really important the precision in dental) that same tooth fits perfect on the plaster model.
I do not know what I am doing wrong, probably the cleaning and curing procces, because I'b seen same printer in the instagram of other labs and works just perfect, I even use their specs to print (with good results for them).
Please Help.

UPDATE:
I just found out that the .lcdimg on the photon official firmware update files is actually a Mask File for the light distribution.

I asked Amy Liao to talk to R&D and ask them for a tool to build these .lcdimg files so people with custom light mods can build a propper mask for their modded photons

That or share the source binary so we can at Photonsters make that tool. I already have the solution working with a ESP, easy to make to evaluate the light distribution
