I had an interesting experience with my last bottle of Anycubic Gray resin. Despite shaking it until my arm got tired before each print, it was nowhere near properly mixed.
The first prints I got out of the top of the bottle were beautiful, but very brittle, and they stuck to the plate like fury.
By the end of the bottle, I was getting prints that were more flexible, much stronger, and not sticking well to the build plate, even though I was printing from similar files using similar techniques.
So, other than the FEP aging over the course of the bottle, which certainly may have affected how sticky it is, the only real variable here is what portion of the resin mix I was getting in the vat.
So, here's my solution. Call it a miniature paint mixer. It's the propeller shaft and prop from a model boat. The shaft is 4mm and the prop is 25mm in diameter. It fits through the mouth of every resin bottle I've got, except for the Monocure 500ml. I can always get a smaller prop, though.
This seemed to do a good job of agitating the resin, and at about 2000 rpm (pushing the resin down, not pulling it towards the cap), it wasn't spraying resin everywhere - only a drop or so off the shaft.
I've got a print going now that failed yesterday with the Anycubic Gray. I'm out of that resin, so this is Monocure Black with about 20% Flex added. The only thing I've changed is the resin and the mixing. If this one fails, I'll change the FEP. If that one fails, I'll try Rain-X on the FEP. If that fails, I'll try Platebond.
If that fails, I'll sacrifice a goat to ... aaaah just kidding.
EDITED: First Monocure print 95% successful. I had one support "disappear" and one corner of one piece has a bit missing. But - it's a servo mount and the missing bit isn't an issue.
